SUMMARY: TOKYO, Jan 9 (Reuters) - Japan's Yamaha Motor Co Ltd <7272.T>, the world's second-largest motorcycle maker, said on Thursday it expected its global vehicle shipments to rise 20.7 percent in calendar 2003 to 2.77 million vehicles.

Yamaha, which generates around 80 percent of its sales abroad, also said it expected domestic shipments in 2003 to rise 0.5 percent to 220,000 vehicles.
