Hey all, I may have toasted my bike, but I'm still into sportbikes. So here's another probing thread from the one and only "Brutha".

I'm wondering how often most sportbike riders (like myself) ride their babies. For me, it was an everyday thing almost. "No rain: will ride. Light rain: will get wet" was (and is) my motto.

I bought my F4 in April. Actually started riding it on the 19th of April. I wrecked it on July 13th. That's 6 days short of 3 months for all you burned-out math geniuses. My odometer read 4,699 miles when the accident occured. This works out to be over 1,500 miles per month; or over 18,000 miles per year: whichever you prefer.

So...How many miles do you all ride and what is considered a lot and what isn't? Kinda curious because most people I know don't put that many miles on their machine in 2 years, let alone 1.

Anyway, this may seem like a worthless topic; and it very well may be, but humor me if you will.

That's it. I look forward to your responses. Have fun, ride safe, and DON'T TOAST YOUR BIKE!!! Trust me: IT SUX!!!

The most miles would have to be Leon and his ZX12. He had more miles on that thing in the first month that I did in 6.

Until I stopped riding two weeks ago (need tires) and excluding the week it was in the shop for fork seals I put 2000 miles on my ZX6R since the beginning of June. 2000 miles in about 6 weeks. Not bad. That's all in town too! On day I spent 5 hours on my bike basically. Boy did my, errr, you know get [email protected]

The 12 is sitting on 7000 miles, since I picked up the bike on May 17. Shortly after, I sold the ZX11 with 104k. What I lack in skill I make up for in practice!

I picked up my RR on a Friday and took it back to the dealer for its first (600 mi) service the next Tuesday. Slowed down since then but when we do ride, it's usually over 100 miles in a day. :D

1450 in one month. Our Sunday group rides on average about three hundred miles every Sunday, weather permitting.

Longest trip was on my F3 in 1998. My buddy and I went to Atlanta, Deal's Gap, Telico Plains, etc. 2400 miles in less than a week. :D

Probably a better answer is what days don't I ride, that would be Saturday.

Rain, shine, wind, I have to ride as I have no other way to get to work, or park if I did have a car. :)

Just to screw you all your heads, I'm gonna talk kilometres here :D

I ride every day, rain, hail or shine. I'm dedicated. My two wheels is the only wheels I got. I do about 1000k's (600m) every month, and about 20,000k's/yr with the odd trip thrown in.

Petrol costs bite though!

I am studying mechenical engineering. You're gonna have to work a little harder to confuse me when it comes to math-related questions/problems; ESPECIALLY conversions! Throw some chemistry in there, and I'll be WAY confused .

You'd have me in such a state that I may even say something INCREDIBLY pathetic and stupid like, "Yamaha makes OK bikes after all!!!"

IT'S ON!!! ;) :D

Sounds like we have some pretty dedicated riders around here. I commute on my 1993 BMW R100R, 52 miles each way, and use it for weekend riding (when I'm not playing on a dirt bike). I too have gone cageless in the past and rode daily no matter the weather. In 20 years of street riding I've put well over 250,000 miles on eight sport bikes. I'm planning to keep the Beemer for while.

When was the last time you saw a Japanese sport bike with 100,000 miles on it? Didn't think so. The only thing that'll keep me from putting 100k on my R100 would be trading it on an R1150S. Is anyone in BMW's marketing department listening?

Remind me to not mock my friend's ZX11 for having 40k on it. My 6R has 20k and I'm sure it's more worn out.

I've had the R1 since very late march, more
or less April 1st. It has 7k on it. As
far as the Yamaha comment... ahh I won't
even bother... :D :D
