Is it me or does it seem like people get their license out of a vending machine? Maybe it should be much harder to pass the road test than it is now. Like about 500% harder. I laugh everytime I hear old drivers (60+) bitching about teens poor driving. Yes there are bad teen drivers just like there are bad elderly drivers. Some changes that need to be made in the driving laws,,
1. 50-60 yr olds, road test every 2 yrs.
2. 60-65, road test every year
3. 65-75, test every 6 months
4. 75+, test every 3 months
5. HP limits for new drivers. (ie 100hp for first year, 150 for 2nd yr and 200 for 3rd yr)
6. Drivers ed should take a year to complete.
7. Teens can carry only 1 passenger that is not immediate family.
8. Limit when teens can drive. No reason for a 16 yr old to be driving around at 3 AM. But then again I've seen 12 yr old out at that time.
9. All pick-ups and SUV's require a endorsement to drive.
10. Insurance co can't discriminate against drivers due to gender or marital status.
11. Go back to separate levels for motorcycle endorsements. (50-500,501-750,751-1000,1001+) Should take 2-3 yrs to ride 1000+cc bikes.
12. The fast lane on the interstate is for sportbikes only.
13. Wheelies cannot be considered reckless driving, unless you are dumb enough to flip it.
14. No idiotic clear taillights, tires that stick out, Superbird style wings on civics or any other crap like that. that includes the idiot in Orfordville that pro-streeted a 70 Cuda convertible. Waste of a beautiful car.

Just some thing that will change after I take over the world.
Have to go, I have a few friends in white coats coming over to take me to the rec room.

rob,

i agree with everything you say except i think everyone should be tested every 4 years on the road, and soccer moms every four minutes.

and suv's should be a different license. i like them as much as most everyone else, but too many people who drive them think they can do anything they want.

Just a few good reasons why you will never rule the world! While your at it maybe we should limit top speed on bikes to 300KPH, oops the factories already have! Whats next carbon fiber? Hey after all it can be a hazordous material under certain conditions. Thank God I live in America where the Constitution protects even idiots who Pro-Street classic American muscle cars.

Pete,
Yes you do, you can get it at any walmart, I think they call it a "fishing license" but you can also drive/ride with it, hunt, run over people, and slap other peoples children. If you want to drive the big rigs or army tanks you have to get the "Trout stamp" as they call it.

Fizzman, I don't have the trout stamp, but I do have the federal and state duck stamps, so I guess I'm good to go. :D

Pete,

I think you need the 'pigeon stamp' to drive those dually pickups to the grocery store. :D :p

Actually, all you need for that is the fade ring on the back pocket of your Wranglers from the can of Copenhagen. Got that covered, too.

I hold the belief that there should be two
general classes of licenses. A and B.
Two sets of roads for each Class - Por
Exemple - I95N - A and I95N -B.

Class B you have your rejects. People who
passed the test but really shouldn't have.
Slow people, stupid people, careless,
cell phone people, rubber necks those types.
That way they can all crash into each other
and watch all the rest of us with the
Class A license fly by doing 100 mhp with
no worries on a seperate strip.

The new test for these classes should include
things that would make people turn their
heads on the course.. (May have to be sex
biased depending on the testees [Testees??]
hehe) and other real world situations where
if you fail to keep your attention on the
road and do more then just assess the
situation you get a class B stamp. Here you
go.. Into the slow lane. And you get a
sticker on your plate, A or B.

I dunno sounds good..

LOL, :) you guy are killing me. Hay, who are these guys in white coming toward me. Put me down! I said put me down. I know I was laughing at a computer screen. It was saying funny things to me, what do you expect.

I want max. gross weight and min. height restrictions as age increases(like at amusement parks-sorry grandma, your head must reach to the top of Shamu's flipper to go on this ride.

RLJ3RD, now did I say speed limiting bikes at 186mph? No. If Cow-i and Slozuki (no replies on slozuki, I might buy one next year) want to build bikes that top 200mph, go for it. Hell I'd bring back the 2stroke 500 street bikes. I forgot to metion on the Cuda that it was an original 440 w/ a A-833 4 speed. Only 200 cars built that way. Most of the clear taillights we have here, you cant even tell if there orange turn signals or brake lights. I personally saw a car (97 Accord)with the tires sticking out 6" lose a front wheel after his lower a-arm and strut broke off. Last thing I want to be involved with is a tire still hooked up to the suspension bouncing at me on a bike.
If you havent noticed, our 'wonderful' (aka Bubba Clinton and head up his ass Gore) leaders are trying to erode our rights. Bubba wants to take away my guns and Gore want to tell me what music I can listen to.
BTW hows the R1 running?

Rob,

Hammer Clinton and Gore some more. I live in Tenn and was raised near Hot Springs, Ark. I could listen to Clinton-Gore bashing for hours. Sounds like I need Rush Limbaugh huh? :D :D

These are great.

I agree with most of them, but get this...I am 23 and when I moved to AZ the license I got is good until 2042. That's right I don't have to renew it until I turn 65, and they wonder why the drivers out here suck.

Closing in on 30,000 (yes not a typo) miles in 2yrs without a hitch. Only 1 preventative recall (countershaft sprocket seal). Yet to jet it (just too lazy to do it). But might be looking into getting a 2001 GSXR750 next year, unless the cheaper R7 comes out or I get a HD. If I get the Gixr, I'm gonna fix the damn headlight so both sides have highs and lows, not the Ducati style light set up.

I agree with every thing but
(HP limits for new drivers. (ie 100hp for first year, 150 for 2nd yr and 200 for 3rd yr) I couldn't live with 100 hp!!!! I do agree that some teens suck at driving but I think there should be some kind of test to see how good they are, then give them restrictsuns<SP>. And the little honda civic with it's four banger can out run most musle cars.
