Anyone ever use a wheelie mahcine like the one in the pic, or similar?
A couple of people around here wanna look into building one, and was just curious about the contact point, for the back tire... and the axle hold.

Any info would be sweet.

Thanks

It's friggin sweet. I am trying to build one.. but needs tones of steel.
The contact point for the tire in on a barrel (drumb) similar to a dyno.
A dyno drumb is about a 1000 pounds, so I assume this would be right around the same to replicate wheel to road resistance...
It needs a rear axel or something to secure the back wheel while still allowing it to spin. Teather the front tire and rock a roll.

Make sure you put BIG fans in front to cool down the radiator. Same goes for your muffler if its a CF one. It does not take much to overheat an engine with no airflow over the radiator. And the radiator fan is not really enough.
Think the big sort of warehouse fans with air channels.

Good luck on your project. Sounds like a good deal of fun.

Thats the craziest thing I've ever seen. Personally I prefer to keep learning in empty parking lots. The wheelie machine dosent simulate the side to side portion of the wheelie. It would be good to get the clutch, throttle motion.

i would think that the trampoline under the front wheel would make it much easier to lift the front end, since it adds to the rebound of the forks.
so whatever skill you learn on that machine will have to be adapted for the street. but it could be no different then learning to wheelie a different bike.
