We debated this a long time ago, so I guess its time to do it again...

I beleive it's City Bike (from back in the days of the original CB bikes (ie. CB750) and then they added the R to the Racer version to make it CBR. Some people say its Closed Body Racer, which sounds good too........

RR is Race Replica.

The C goes back to the very first Honda built for a worldwide market, the 50cc C100 Super Cub. The first model to use the CB designation was the 1959 CB92 Benly Super Sport 125. The "B" was apparently taken from "Benly", but I can't confirm that. The first model to use displacement rather than an arbitrary designator after the CB was the 1965 CB160.

R is used because it's universally recognized as a fast letter. R1, GSXR, 9R, 748R,... And the more R's in a model designation, the faster the motorcycle will be. How else can you explain putting 3 R's in one identifier? BTW, I have it on good authority that when the CBR954RR is upgraded next year, its replacement will be the CBRR999RRR. Make mine spam, spam, spam, eggs, and spam. And can I substitute spam for eggs in that? ;)
