I am picking up a 98 gixxer 750 today that I got a great deal on. It's has 970 miles and was bought new last year. I was able to get it for $6000 and it's in perfect shape. The guy bought a 1000 this year and they didn't want to give him anything for it.

Now it's time to think about pipes. I am going to go with slip-on for sure. I have a RS-3 on my F4 and love it, the sound is great. I thought about trying some other brand but don't want to take a chance since I love that sound so much. My first question is kind of stupid. I bought the RS3 for the F4 and it was too quiet so I had a different baffle put in; gave it the best sound. Should I have order the "race only" slip on? What exactly is the difference of the race only. My second question is about the Tri-Oval. Does it sound the same and how does it look? Could someone post some pics please. Any help would be great. Thanks

Maybe this will help

The Tri-oval is a lot louder than the regular oval or round cans. My husband had one on his ZX6R.

I believe that race only means that your bike would not pass emissions inspections if you put it on for street use.

Finally...

gave in and ordered go-fast pipes for my bike. Yosh slip-on.

Hopefully my opposable thumbs dont fail me and make installation easy.

Gonna post what happens next. :D :p

I went with the Carbon Fiber Race RS-3 Slip-on for my bike and I love it. It goes well with the K&N I installed also. It's got a good (aggressive) sound without being totally outrageous.

I have a tri-oval on my 2001 GSX-R600 and it sounds great. I think it sounds better than the oval can. I had my bike dynoed after I put it on and didn't get the gain that Yosh tells you, but it helped a little. Not to mention that not everyone has one yet, so your bike will have a different look than everyone else with Yosh pipes. I will get a picture up soon of mine. Either way you go Yosh pipes are all good!!

At the bottom of the page you type your message into, there is a section called Attach File, and next to it is a text window and a button labeled "browse."

When you click on browse, you can find where your pic is saved, select it, and you will be brought back to your message page. Click "submit reply" and when your message is posted, your image will be viewable for everyone.

i have a TRI OVAL race system on my gsxr 1000 and it sounds really mean after you get above 5,000 RPM's. Its a good pipe for the buck and with FI adjustments you get NOTICEABLE power inprovement. i payed $625 for mine. If you know the right dealer then you shouldnt have any problem getting the bike inspected. i have never had a problems with having race exhausts. if the cops where you live are dickheads then you might have some problems. hope this helps
