From time to time we post this same question... mosty because everyone responds. So now I am asking it with a twist....

1. What do you do?
2. How long have you done it?
3. Do you enjoy your job?

I work for a window manufacturing company. I am basically the IT person, talk about power!:p I do all the graphic design, report running, pc upgrades, repair.... you name it, I do it.

Been here since Jan 23, 2006.

And yes, I enjoy it very much! :thumb:

I am a receptionist for a design firm, very boring, very easy, just forward calls and get coffee, and chat when someone is on here! been doing it for a few months. Do I enjoy it? hmm its not satisifying, but I get to see how people in this industry work, I am in school for graphic design.

Marketing Specialist. I deal with tradeshows, graphic design, website building, and the little bits of paperwork here and there.
Been doing it for a year.
I love my workplace. Its like I'm living the movie "Office Space" everyday, and it cracks me up.

I just saw Grandma's Boy and its Office Space with Half-Baked. Its freaking fun as hell. Its the new movie at work. Its funny to be in a meeting and our Boss cracks up naughty jokes from those movies.

Primarily I run a PC repair buisness to get the bills payed. I don't enjoy it becuase it ficing the same problems every day, day in and day out... spyware. I've been doing this for almost three years now but buisness isn't stable and comes only in spirts recently. I also do part time work for my neighbor selling medical equipment, like the machines that you sit infront of at the eye doctor with all the lenses and the ones that puff air into you eye. Stuff like that. We sell and repair them, he makes a mint ($350k a year easy) doing it and has expressed interest in me going full time with him and eventually taking over, dunno if its what I want to do though. I do enjoy the work though, I've been working with him for about 8 months. I am also a full time college student, and no I don't enjoy it. I hate school... all work and no pay.

Thankfully retired in '90 & love it ONLY drawback is my old age is showing up especially in joints & prior injures.

Started work in '48 as part time m/c owner & in the clothing business, to another city & the same, then to Banff National Park in Alberta, to start up a sp;ort shop that catered to mountaineers & skiers though started to bring in Greeses m/cs & modifying bikes to cafe racer form --also did some Instrument Man work for the Trans-Canada Hwy so note I have really not had one job, but two to sometimes three. Then to this place in B.C. interior as fruit orchardist & started to bring in some spacial parts for dirt comp riders to managing a m/c shop along with helping to manage a small bike distriburter. Sold orchard so back to survey work & later working for the corp of this town doing everything from assistant water treatment plant operator, to jack hammer man, to zamboni man at the hockey rink to some dangerous work for th corp that also payed me danger pay to grave digging or anything to finally working in a fabricagtion plant & talked them into handing out a new job called "decker" for what took several welders & seveal assistants 3 or 4 days to do in decking once I had a decent helper that I personally hired between the two of he we could deck to low bed trailers in a day. Then time came to call it quits in all forms of work.

Lot of little add on jobs when I was working like I helped as a mountain rescue team, also the wardens bought most of their gear from my shops for it was proven by a fellow climber & be it said rescue training programs I was out every time to see how the equipment stood up & same when the Wardens took over as ski patrols & rescue teams there I was doing the same. Also I was familiar with f/arms along with reloading so often worked on their guns or sometimes, in an odd case or two, I was hired to be the assistant-warden assigned with the rifle when it came to dropping a bear or in thinning out the massive population of Elk in said area.

I work for the United States Dept of Agriculture doing nuisance animal work.
Work duties change basically with each season. During the winter we "remove" European Starlings for farmers, Crows for everyone, and Deer for Airports and communities that are having problems with too many of them. During the spring most of my time is spent doing work with Canada Geese. Basically, Geese suck. So people pay us to make sure no more geese hatch on their property (golf courses, lakes, parks etc). Then we chase the geese out and keep them from coming back.
During the summer and fall I do work on the national Oral Rabies Vaccination program. This is to combat the westward spread of Raccoon strain rabies from going past middle Ohio. We drop rabies vaccination baits from airplanes then trap the animals to see if they have been picking up and eating the baits, and also to find out what their immunity is to the virus.

Do i like it? Not really. I work a lot harder that what i get paid for. But it's my first job out of college, and I have received a lot of trainings that will look great on a resume.

Job 1: Mail sorting. 8:00AM to 3:30PM mon-fri.

Time: 2.5 years

I work for an independant courier in the federal building. I pull whatever packages that my company can take. I get $8/hr and for the most part, the people I work with are assholes. Some of them are really nice, though. Overall... I absolutly hate it.

Job 2: Bank route. 4:00PM - 9:00PM mon-fri.

time: 6 months

I pick up the nightly paperwork from 9 different banks, and drop off the empty bag from the previous night. This job pays better than my first, and I dont have to deal with anyone. Overall... I like this job a lot.

Job 3: Film Route. 7:30AM - 3:00PM Sunday.

Time: 7 months

I pick up fuji/konika overnight film from walmart, sams club, brooks, riteaid, and hannafords. Rockland traffic sucks ass in the summertime, and the walmart people are nazis about the pickup time. The control freaks always make me stand around for 30 minutes while they wait on other customers. Overall... I absolutly hate this job.

Job 4: Car stereo installation. whenever.

Time: 9 years

I used to work for an audio shop full time, but hated it... so I decided to go it on my own part time. I love it because I can do this in my driveway in what little spare time I have, charge 1/3 of what the local shops do, and keep it all, thus being paid 5x better than any other installer in the area.

Engineer for a pharmaceutical company. Currently working in the animal health division. Been here almost three years and it's the best job I've had to date. It's not uncommon for me to go weeks at a time without even seeing my boss. He gives me my assignments, then gets the hell out of the way so I can get them done. The company is a great one to work for, so if I absolutely have to work I want it to be here.
