Hey:

a quick question regarding waxing my bike (06 GSX-R750).

When waxing the bike do I treat the plastic parts (fairings, etc) any different than the metal parts (tank)?

And how do I care for or avoid damaging the decal trim details on the bike?

thanks

Don't worry about whats underneith. You're waxing clear-coated paint, not plastic or metal. Its all the same. Just don't wax those two circular rubber things.

I think you are fine to wax over the top of them, but I don't know for sure because I took mine off. Just try a small test spot on one of them first. Pretty sure it should be just fine though.

i would have typed it all over for this site, but my fingers get sore after alot of typing. plus its alot easier just to post up a link.

im thinking of putting together a detail your bike and work on your bike day. help the new people work on their bikes (me included) as well as teach people how to make their bike shine and what products do what.

Hey: I picked up some microfiber towels and the soft microfiber cloths.
Washed and dried with the towel.

Used Meguires Gold Class wax. Used the soft cloths to buff off the wax.

Incredible results!:D

No problem with the stickers, just waxed over the top and did not go against the grain.

Used the same on my RoadKing and my wifes Heritage (got some sweet husbanding points for that).

thanks again for the link

Micofiber rocks!
