OK, I have been wanting to do wheelies on my bike since I first got it. The problem is that all the articles I have read are not helping. Like the one about opening up the throttle and letting the clutch out all the way, something about looping scares me. I have done a wheelie on it, by accident. I was one gear too high and opened it up. Luckily I brought it down safely. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If there is a road that has a "*hump" in it try doing it over that.
Are you sitting back in the seat?
Are you giving the handle bars a tug?
The main thing is DON'T do it if it scares you. Don't force it. DO let off the second "something" doesnt feel right, cuz after that it can go bad.
A friend of mine has a rep for doing 1 mile+ wheelies at 120+. He also has a rep for looping a superhawk at 65 in front of a harley bike night, and wrecking 2 other times for a total of 3 this summer alone.

It's no problem with our bikes...

Just bring the RPM's up to about 6-7000, let off the throttle and then hammer it, very quick one step motion. You don't need to tug on the bars or sit back on the seat or anything.

If it can do it with my heavy ass on it then it should with you or anyone else.

It does have the power to loop, just let off the gas and it will fall, sometimes violently bouncing but just modulate the throttle to control the set down.

Or just start rolling at like 5 mph and then wack the gas FULL on and at about 9,000 rpm it will come on on power alone, even if you are crouched on the tank. This method scares me more than the throttle one.

Dam I wish this rain would go away, I haven't touched my bike since last Friday!!

I usually do method #1 above. about 7000 let off and nail it.

I don't feel comfortable using the clutch to get it up. The clutch on the vfr is pretty touchy, so is the throttle.
