I am travelling to the Valencia World Superbike round in March and I need information on purchasing tickets. How and where would one from the U.S. go about buying or reserving these? If there's a website, great. Phone number, okay.

Thanks for any assistance.

Also, if anyone knows of a good motorcycle rental place in/near Barcelona, please speak up. Thanks! :)

This may help...

You should first contact Randy at Travelcraft . He used to run tours to the GPs and I'm sure he still has all the contact info. We went with him to Catalunya in 97. I believe he still organizes m/c tours throughout Europe as well.

Kenny Roberts Jr mom has a travel agency as well but don't have any info on it.

Lastly you could send an e-mail to [email protected]. You may also try to gleen some info thru their webpage here . We were able to purchase Brands Hatch tickets through
Octagon . I'm not sure if they would provide tickets outside the UK though. It doesn't appear so.

Thanks for the tips. I left a message for Randy - his flunkies at Travelcraft either didn't know the answer or weren't willing to help me. We'll see if Randy can be of any help. I've checked out the official Valencia site but strangely, they don't seem to mention tickets at all on the site. I looked at Octagon, but they seem to only sell tickets for U.K.-based races as you suspected.

If KRJr's mom can get me tickets, great. No idea how/where to contact her though. I'm starting to think it'll be easier to contact individual racers in person to ask them how to get tickets! I had no idea that it would be this difficult.

Thanks for the help, in any case.

Try a personal message to smeg or some of the other Europers on SBW. They ought to know or have guess anyway? Maybe tickets just arn't on sale so far in advance. Why not call the track, do they list a contact number?

Luckey bastard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm graduating in a year (masters) and WILL ABSOLUTELY do cycleworlds gp tour or something similar if they don't offer it that year. Can't wait.

You renting a bike when you're over there?

Apexis,

Yeah, I know - I'm really lucky! :) We will indeed be renting bikes in Barcelona and will ride around for two or three days during our nine-day stay. The mountains north of Barcelona are supposed to have great motorcycle roads! :D

Thanks for the recommendations. I actually managed to contact Tanya Wicks via email. She's the marketing coordinator for SBK international. Turns out I can buy tickets through her (she's in England) or through the Valencia track itself. I think I'll go with her since I doubt I'll be able to make myself understood to the ticket drones in Spain.

Just for the record in case someone searches for this thread later on, here is the info she sent me:

----

Hi Chris

To purchase normal entry tickets you have to contact the circuit
directly. (these are standard tickets which will have grandstand
seating
and allow you only in the public areas). The circuit can be contacted
on
tel: +34 962525220 or www.circuitvalencia.com

Through me you can purchase paddock passes (valid for all three days,
allow circuit entrance, grandstand seating and entrance to the
exclusive
SBK paddock). These cost US$110 per person. Alternately the hospitality
package as outlined on our website www.worldsbk.com under 'Business
Club' for US$400 per person for the weekend.

Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards

Tanya Wicks
