Sorry Mad, but a question for speed.

Do you guys get to see the WRC (world rally champs) on TV?

They hold one section here in NZ, and I tell you this country was made for rallying, more twistie back gravel roads than you can point a stick at.

Usually speedvision will show the FIA World Rally (Colin McRae, Richard Burns, etc). Rally racing is incredible! Going that fast, over that type of terrain, with fans and other obstacles so close, those guys have to be some of the best drivers in the world. I'm hoping that Ford will come out w/an all wheel drive Focus, or maybe Subaru will up the power on the Impreza so I can buy and practice my 4-wheel drifts on some of the local gravel roads!!! :)

ross- im not sure.. i dont have cable so i dont get to see much racing at all (except for NASCAR.. & im sorry.. but that isnt really racing to me). i have seen some european events at friends houses & when i had cable but not sure to which organization it was. i do live in colorado springs... & not really a rally race.. the pikes peak hill climb is this weekend (every 4th of july weekend).. that is some scary stuff.. no gaurd rails.. paved & dirt roads.. a 2000 foot sheer drop.. other "smaller" drops.. & speeds over 100mph in some places... wow. www.ppihc.com

i also want a 4wheel drive car to play in. i like subaru & bmw's. i also like the 99 style of the eclipse.

I have a 4wd Subaru wagon 2.2l non turbo, no matter how hard I try, getting the arse to slide is a real task.

It don't have the HP of the turbo WRX or RS, but still is fun to throw around :)

The rally is free to air here, due mostly to the huge interest from fans sponsors etc.

Side note: every year they hold a hill climb in Queenstown, that has every concevible class, from production rally to super quad bike's one in particular was called Quadzilla, a yami quad with a gsx1300r motor, last years entry was cbr1100xx motor.
BTW the honda won, the gsxr broke down.

after watching coltard (sp?) and schumacher at the french grand prix, this is looking to be a good season.

and villenueve finish 4th (i'm a big fan).

button also looked good for parts. 3 years racing, it makes nicky hayden seem like a gizzly vetran (which in many ways he is).

i think m. schumacher will destroy everyone. the guy can learn tracks fast.

I'm going!

My friend's wife is from the area, and her family always manages to get on the list for tickets.

A few years ago, we went to the inaugural Brickyard 400, and now we're going to see F1 there. Which is weird, because I've never been to the damn Indy 500, and I'm a huge CART fan. I've always hoped CART would get back there, because I'd really like to go, but I don't really care for the IRL. (Though, it WAS nice to see a CART team spank them all this year!)
