Yes.
Bikes are under the same laws as everything else. I know a guy that got a speeding ticket going downhill doing 40 in a 30. I also know of another guy that was riding his bike home from the bar in traffic and got a DUI.

Everyone knows that if a motorcyclist is on a highway with a 65mph speed limit, and he/she is weaving in and out of traffic at 100mph+ speeds, that motorcyclist can be pulled over by a cop.

Well, let's say a guy has a bicycle that is street legal (mirrows, etc.) and he is on a highway. And let's say this guy has superhuman strength. Thus, he is able to pedal extremely quickly. Thus enabling him to reach very high speeds. If this guy was on his bicycle weaving in and out of traffic at 100mph+ speeds, can he get pulled over?

tirefryer is correct, in washington, bicycles have to follow the same rules as cars, i raced road bicycles for 7 years, and in that time i got pulled over 2 times for blowing thru 4 way stops, and got "the lecture", never got a ticket, but they allways explained how they could have given me a ticket, and that i had to follow the same rules as auto's did.

I fell for the "Urgency", too. Bikes are not allowed on the highway, but if they were, they too, would have to abide by the same traffic laws as everyone else.

A cyclist once ran a stop at a 4 way intersection, and happened to hit my car, and fly over the hood (taking out my radio antenna). After rolling a few times he got up checked his bike and called the police from his cell phone.

After the cops figured everything out, he ended up getting a $70 dollar ticket for failure to obey traffic sign...boy was he pissed...

My FIRST ticket ever, at 29 years old, was being pulled over on my bicycle for blowing a stopsign. I notice something a bit different as I roll through the (needless) stopsign for the millionth time--Yup, it IS a TRIO of motorcycle cops watching me. Three of them! Pulling over bikes left and right--sirens and lights (for about 40 feet).
I kept a copy of the ticket for posterity, because it is so STUPID.

JRM, now that's some funny sh!t. I wonder what they would have done if you didn't stop. Remember that low speed chase in L.A. when the cops were following O.J.? I have been on some 100 mile rides and I think it would be hilarious to make the 6 o'clock news being chased by 6 cop cars while riding a bicycle for running a stop sign. If they throw down those nail strips I'd just bunny hop over them

Back in my less productive/heavy drinking college years I got picked up on a bike. Seems I was on a bicycle and went through a girls rest room, down 2 flights of stairs, through a bunch of flowers, across 4 lanes of traffic and crashed into the window of a bar. Picked up for public intox and not allowed back in that dorm.

Guess I was thirsty and they couldnt take a joke.

now im not saying Pull over a 7year old on a tricycle for driving on the wrong side of the road on a residential street. But some of these courier guys in downtown area are nut balls. The move i hate most is your just about stopping behind car in front of you for a red and they swoop in between you and the other guy. Then you got to nail the brakes to keep from hitting them. They also run reds and almost hit you when you got a green. Again i got to hit the brakes to not hit them. Then the kicker is they tell me to F**K off.
