I replaced my front brake pads today and noticed that the left side pads had twice as much wear as the right side pads

Shouldn't both calipers wear almost exactly the same?

I'm thinking that maybe the left side was rubbing the disc causing continuous wear, but if thats the case what do I do about it?

I have removed the calipers and cleaned them thoroughly with brake cleaner a few weeks back, but when I lift the front wheel and spin, it feels/sounds like the pads are rubbing ??? Is this normal?

Stopping CAN be a good thing!

Motorcycle brakes are like automobile brakes. When you spin the wheel does it make an uneven sound like a warped disc or is it a constant sound like a sticky caliper. They will always touch the rotor when not being used, but if you can feel that one side is sticking then you should have the calipers rebuilt/replaced. I would also check the brake lines to see if they are bad. Squeeze the brake lever and check the lines for bulging.

Ratsalad,

Have a dealer check to make sure your rotors have no run-out.

I took mine into a Honda cause the front brakes were dragging. I found the problem early and took it in to be fixed.

Anyway, one Honda dealer wanted to rebuild my calipers at like $50.00 an hour plus parts (the quote was like $230.00). When I went in to see what they found they said sign here and well fix it. I said NO WAY, the bike only has 8,000 miles.

I took it to the dealer where I bought it and in like 1/2 an hour they found the problem. The right rotor had run-out causing the left caliper to drag. Honda sent 2 new rotors next day air at no charge. :D
