I'm 39, bought a 2008 Fz6r over 2 years ago as my first bike and have put 25k miles on and ride daily. I enjoy the process of learning, building the know how to service my own bike and continuing to become a better rider. When buying my Fz6r, I read several forums and heeded all of the comments that a 600 ss is not a newbie bike and a recipe for disaster. And while I have been immersing myself further into the world of motorcycles, the R6 is calling to me. So this leads to my question...any thoughts/comments as to what prompts or qualifies the change from a 600 cc sport touring bike to a 600 cc ss? Anything I seem to come across speaks to why an 18yro buying his first bike shouldn't get a 600ss and I'm looking for more contextual feedback. Thanks in advance for your comments!

I'm 40. I started riding in April on an ADV bike. After a few weeks I bought an R6. Not your typical scenario for sure. I also immersed myself in everything I could find. After 1k miles on the R6 and 8k on the ADV, I choose to ride the R6 almost every time. It's an amazing bike and very easy to ride since there is no power before almost 8k RPM. If you gradually get used to it it's a fine bike. It's more about your mentality versus the bike being a death trap. Although I don't have a lot of experience, I have talked to experienced riders on and offline and they voice similar observations. Once you get used to the bike you will always be between 8k and 16k rpm :)

Yeah, I do agree with you, Luke. R6 is more compatible as compared to Fz6r. Even I was riding ADV and Fz bike from a few years but after knowing about the features and compatible nature of R6 I got it delivered here in Florida just in front of my house with the help of a reliable auto shifting service by contacting the team through the site here. I have also got the reference of R6 from several other riders and it proved to be very beneficial for me as I am really enjoying my ride to the fullest with this model.
