Here's the deal: I need an exhaust system for my TL1000S Streetfighter project...

What I DON'T want is the normal two-muffler set up. When I build the bike, it'll have minimal bodywork, with maybe something like an XR750 dirt tracker tail section, so I don't want the exhaust system to dominate the rear end of the bike.

I was almost going to buy the new Two Brothers 2-into-1 system that just came out, but lately I've experienced way too many problems with 2 Bros. quality and customer service, and I'm getting tired of it. So I'm looking for something new and/or different.

So does anyone know of any company making either a 2-into-1 system, or possibly a twin muffler on one side system (not 2 Bros.! ;)), or maybe even an underseat system? Also, I would prefer a titanium can as first choice, aluminum 2nd, carbon 3rd. I've looked at Wolf, and they've got nothin'...

Still, it seems like the Europeans would be the ones to have this kind of system for the TL-S, but I don't know all of the brands out there.

So who's got some ideas?

Anyone?

Come on, I'd help you! ;)

{After some checking, so far M4 looks promising. They have a 2-1 Hi-Pipe system with Titanium can for about $700. Only problem is, no pictures! Has anyone seen one of these on the TL? How does M4 stuff hold up in the long run? I've only seen them at the track... They look okay, but they are loud as hell on inline 4's...}

:D :D :D

If I told you, I'd have to kill you... ;)

Thanks for the ideas, guys. Keep 'em coming...

I think that TL dirt tracker was in CW. I believe that pipe may have been custom fit for the dirt track frame, but I'll look into it...

i saw a flat-track-based street bike, w/ a tl motor in a magazine, and i want to say it had a supertrapp xr750-style 2-2 highmount (same side). i know supertrapp, but it looked the part. don't quote me, i don't remember what magazine it was in, cw or motorcyclist. someone has to remember the details.

i've only seen one m4 on a street bike and it was put on i think last year the owner said. m4's seem to crash well.

I have had 2 systems from M4 before, and I have to say that I have been extremely pleased with their products and customer service.

I would recommend their exhaust to anyone. According to their web site, the TL1000S 2-1 give about 5-HP and 2-LBS torque. It is avail in a high back or regular in stainless or titanium.

Just my .02

Keep the shiney side up!

I HAVE A 1997 GREEN TLS WHICH I JUST PUT THE LOW MOUNT M4 PIPES ON. THEY ARE A LITTLE ON THE LOUD SIDE BUT SEEM TO BE MADE WELL. ANOTHER PERSON I KNOW ALSO HAS A SET OF THESE PIPES ON A SV650 AND HE LIKES THE AMOUNT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK. WHILE MY TLS HAS NOT BEEN ON THE DYNO TO PLAY WITH THE SV HAS. WITH THE M4'S ON THE SV HE HAS HAD TO GO UP SEVERAL SIZES ON THE MAIN JET AND HE HAS BEEN SOMEWHAT SHOCKED HOW WELL THE PIPE HAS DONE. ALSO WHAT EVER SHOP YOU LOOKED AT THE M4 PIPES SHOULD HAVE A PHOTO OF THE 2 INTO 1 PIPE SINCE I SAW THE PIPE IN THE BOOK I LOOKED AT. THIS BOOK HAD A PHOTO OF THE HIGH MOUNT, LOW MOUNT, AND THE 2 INTO 1 WITH DNYO CHARTS ON EACH PIPE WITH THE 2 INTO 1 DOING HAVING THE LOWEST GAIN OF ALL THE PIPES.
