Biker leaves corpse at crash scene

A motorcyclist with a helmet-wearing corpse strapped to his back crashed in the Mexican border city of Tijuana today and fled on foot, setting off a police murder hunt.

The unidentified driver was trying to ride with the body through the centre of Tijuana, south of San Diego, California, when he lost control rounding a curve.

He fled the scene, leaving the dead passenger on the curb. Police said the corpse, which had head injuries and bore strangulation marks, had died at least six hours earlier.

"When the police arrived they took the helmet off the corpse, believing at first that he had died in the crash," said Francisco Castro, a spokesman for the Baja California state police's homicide division.

"But he had adhesive tape stuck to his face, a knife wound to his forehead, and showed signs of strangulation," he said.

Castro said the dead man had wraps of methamphetamine in his pocket and an unkempt appearance, which led investigators to believe the killing was drug related.

"We think the killer was trying to take the body to a more deserted area to dispose of it," he said.

The corpse was strapped to him.

No wonder he crashed. Could you imagine trying to corner with a dead-weight like that strapped to you??!! Not to mention the stress of the situation.

if it was drug related, what are the chances the rider was also high? not that its a good thing but considering the situation tryin' to ride a bike with a dead body and bein' high takes an awful lot of skill. i think it would have been less troublesome to steal a car :D

Seems like this should be in some british flic. Like shallow grave, or maybe abit more lock stock.

Either way, its abit too comical to be taken seriously to me.

Didnt feel like starting a new thread

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - Six people were stabbed early Sunday during a melee at a 1-year-old's birthday party, police said. It apparently started when a downstairs neighbor went upstairs to complain about the noise.

The injured were taken to Hartford and St. Francis hospitals, where they were treated for stab wounds to their faces and necks. All were later released.

Police said they received several 911 calls around 12:45 a.m. They arrived at a two-family home on Crosby Street to find dozens of people running around in a thunderstorm. Some were screaming and bleeding.

Most spoke only Spanish, adding to the chaos. A Spanish-speaking officer from Manchester was eventually brought into translate.

Four carloads of men showed up to join the fight and police said some may have been affiliated with a gang.

Sgt. Ed Perkins said that as he arrived he saw one person in the road beating another person with a chair.

Officers said they found a knife hidden under the child's birthday cake. No children or police officers were injured.

Eight people were arrested. Two were treated for injuries at the hospital and released.

Police detained so many people that they ran out of regular handcuffs. Then they ran out of temporary flexible restraining devices and had to call for more.

East Hartford's emergency management director found housing at local hotels for at least eight children and 12 adults displaced when the apartment became a crime scene. Police were interviewing witnesses to find out what sparked the brawl.
I particularly like the bit about a knife hidden in the birthday cake.
