Im thinkin on goin to a 1000rr.. Just wondering what riders opinions are on them? I have a buddy who loves his but he never really pushes it.. The reviews arent too great on the bike but i was wondering what everyone else thought about it?

Are there any 1000rr riders that can give me some feedback on what you like and dont like about them?

How do they handle and ride compared to my 954?

I heard the steering dampner is awsome...

Gimme some feedback plz!

Best out of the crate streetbike I have ever owned & I have owned a shitload of them! In addition to having ridden all the new literbikes back to back... I chose the RR for it's extremely linear power delivery, ease of maintenance & rock solid stability very similar to the RC51.

Simple mods to the gearing, Fi & an Ohlins rear shock make it superb on all accounts.

If you want good reviews, check out the foreign press. The 1KRR is almost unanamously motorcycle of the year.
Here in the U.S. the press loves pure power, that fast feeling, best, hence the love for the Busa, GXSR-1000 and 10R.

I own one and am now up to 5000 miles on it.
Best bike I have ever ridden, touched or seen.
In all black it is beautiful.

Dont be misled by reviews touting the RR as slow and fat. It does weigh 30lbs more than the 10R but if its moving, that weight goes away. Power wise its on par and the way the entire package is sorted out it has the ability to glide through corners at speeds most other bikes would find impossible.
Straight line its not as fast as the 10R, stock.

Racing, the 1000RR is Dominant in MotoGP except for Rossi-God, Dominant in AMA Superbike, except for Mladin and is neck and neck with the leaders in almost every other racing class with or without factory support.

Since when do they race 1000RRs (or any bike we can buy, for that matter) in MotoGP?

I believe it's the RC211V in moto-gp:D What I find interesting is the Ten Kate honda in world superbike. I thought that it was a factory backed superbike spec rr, but it's not. It was prepped in a large honda dealer in Holland, and they are winning some races on it. Thats really got to piss ducati off, what with all their factory bikes and big name riders.

Hopefully that previous post was in reference to the 1000RR being based on the RC211V...??
Anyway, I just talked to a dealer who explained these bikes in detail (best salesman I've ever dealt with....Steve Leonard at Powersports in Seaside, CA), and he explained that while the 1000RR did gain 30 lbs, it was because of the 211 engineering making its way to the street. Something about the engine being centrally located, etc. It kind of went over my head. I was there looking at the 999, and asked about all of the liter bikes. The 1000RR felt pretty good.
Just my :2cents: .
