Another only in Europe thing.
I have lusted for BMW's 1100GS / 1150GS for a while now, I would buy it but it's a pig off road. There's the other option of getting the F650 but sometimes it's fun to go faster than 60MPH ;) .. Wouldn't it be nice to have something in between ?? Like an 850 ?? An R850GS! As soon as I saw it at www.bmw.ie I fell in love. I called BMW Canada in hopes they'd import next year but no luck... I might be thinking about buying it from Europe and shipping it over ?

I cannot understand why BMW doesn't import their 850s. If they did, I would have bought a new R850R instead of a 1993 R100R. This R850GS looks like an excellent compromise between the underpowered F650 and the overweight R1150GS. Of course, the Irish web site doesn't list any specs, so we don't know how heavy this thing is.

For anyone looking for the info on the site Squidwannabee reference, click the Showroom button and then scroll down and click the Motorcycles link.

Could I possibly interest you in a pair of zircon encrusted tweezers?

Sorry Photobug,

1. Go to bmw.com , click on English
2. click on motorcycles
3. click on R series
4. click on 850GS
