Not really sure, they are suppose to be alot more comfortable (loose fit, vented) but offer less protection than leathers.

Check your PMs bro

I normally wear textiles because I ride 365 days a year. They are not supposed to be tight, but they are not supposed to be wind breakers, either.

I've got an older pair or Motoports or something like that. I usually wear my jeans underneath so I don't have to change when I get to work. On those really cold days, I can also get a pair of sweat pants under the jeans, but I waddle.

They survived a low speed (25mph) crash about 7 years ago, and it has slight abrasion on one ass-cheek and still keeps the elements out.

There are no velcro/knee pads, so the knees do not go down in these, no matter how tempting it may be.

Textiles, good for commuting and such, but get leathers if you're going out for joy rides.

They were along the lines of $200 or so. There was an awesome pair in Sportbike magazine a few months ago. I wanted to get a pair, but they were $450.

As a general rule, textiles are better than jeans. Although I wouldn't claim ANY textiles are better than ANY jeans.

I wouldn't know, since I have no experience with those.

I personally have a tendency to stay away from mainstream brands, not that there is anything wrong with them. I just prefer to buy products from companies that specialize in... whatever it is I'm buying.

Check out THIS WEBSITE to read up on reviews from people who have actual experience with particular pants.

I got a pair of joe rocket stage I (or was is III) pants, the ones that look like something out of starship troopers. They would provide more protection than jeans, pretty good wind breakers, cheap, but get toasty in the summer. Over all i like them.

ÜberMods: why isnt this thread in GEAR?
