Well today I decided to clean my bike up: wipe down the rims, fairing etc. etc. In the process, I thought what a great idea it would be to fire it up just to hear it purr :) However, my bike did not start..

The engine turns over, but fails to start. The bike ran fine all summer but sat quietly in the garage for the past 3 weeks or so (heated garage). According to the manual it references the petcock (snicker) in the PRI position so the carbs will get fuel. I let the bike sit like this for about 10 minutes or so and had the same result. Headlight comes on, engine turns over but nothing... it sort of sounded close a few times but the battery started to get weak by this point so I decided I'd best check the internet -- it never lies.

Any advice appreciated.

Are you sure there's gas in the tank?

If so, pull the plugs and make sure they're clean. It may be time to replace them.

Another probable culprit is a clogged fuel filter.
