I have two opinions that a lot of you will probably dislike. But hey, you don't know where I live, so I'm safe.

First off hy_syde, I swear dude, half your posts SCREAM squid. Sorry man, but I'm tellin' it straight. Layoff the wreckless talk man. It makes you look immature and squidly.

Secondly, Sportbikes are not in any circumstance a ticket to run/speed. If you're gonna get on this forum and complain about bad media exposure, then don't condone things like this. This is half the reason cops try to pull us over in the first place. I'm sorry if I offend any of you guys. I have respect for you all, but we need to get away from this "hooligan" stereotype!

Thanx for listening. Let the insults fly!!! :D

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- San Antonio Spurs forward Samaki Walker was arrested Wednesday for driving a motorcycle more than 100 mph on a highway.

Walker, 24, was spotted at 2:29 a.m. going more than 80 mph southbound on state Route 315, police Sgt. Earl Smith said.

Officer Phillip Thomas said Walker didn't stop when signaled to pull over and accelerated, going up to 100 mph. Walker left the highway and pulled over after a helicopter put a spotlight on him, Smith said.

Walker was charged with reckless operation, fleeing an officer and driving with an expired license. He posted bond after being taken to the Franklin County Jail.

Walker is a former basketball star at Whitehall High School near Columbus, and played at Louisville.

hey, doncha live somewhere is OH?? dude, i'm gunna hunt u down and pull a phat burnout on yer sloe @ss...

honestly, yer opinion is all 4 u, but i live in the real world.

of course it depends on the circumstances, but i can and do get away from the PoPo all the time. i'm not talk'n bout some chase like on COPS (20 squad cars and copters), i just mean when i see the Fuzz starting to pull out on me, i just dust him. it really is no big deal, the whole chase is over in 2 minutes or less... but if u enjoy pulling over and paying fines, then mo power 2 ya'.

far as the squid comment, i'm not offended at all. u don't knoe me, and never have ridden wit me... most of the ppl i ride wit here in my locale would probably think the same thing if they only knew me by what/how i post...

but no one who knoes me would share yer opinion (on the squid commment anyhow).

i still stand by my comment, if the dude had a clue on how to get away he could have lost the PoPo easy... well unless he was on a harley!!!

First, rt 315 in Columbus is the worst place to speed or run from the cops- it's notorious for speed traps, the pavement is in poor condition and has been under construction for a few years, and it's central location guarantee a helicopter is moments away.
Now HySlyde, I've been stopped doing 125 and did not go to jail. The cop wrote me for 100, cost about $85. I think Brutha has you pegged. Better get your head outta yer ass before an E.R. doc has to do it for you.

We've had this discussion at least a few times before. And basically its a personal thing. If you want to run then fine go for it...if you don't you don't...me personally..I'm smart enough to know where to go haulin off at 100+...I certainly wouldn't do it in the city, and I certainly would know how the cops are in the area I plan on doing it.

My other point is you'll get caught eventually or killed....I'd rather pay the fine and be done with it.

tristan is right about this. most cops will cut you a break if you stop. i know lots of people with tickets for "failure to obey a traffic control device" with notes stating that the rider was in excess of 100+mph for x distant and how fast the wheelie was, etc, etc (no points, small by pa standards fine). i know a lot more who got stiff warnings (like, 'if i ever see you go 1 mph over the limit your @$$ is mine', that was for 85+ in a 30 with a run through a school zone, yes me, not proud).

on the other hand, you run, they're gonna pull out the book and find crap to charge you with, if they catch you. i know people who've been down that road too (it's hard to out-run a road block). you know, must judges think that 120mph is serious. i believe the guy on real tv on the 600 ninja who hit the bus did 6 months or so. you may think it's fun to run, but 6 months of getting raped by angry prisonners doesn't sound like fun to me.

i'll take the ticket before i'll go to jail.

and if you think you're too good to get caught, don't forget, even doohan crashed without the benefit of cars.

just my .02

Hey numbnut, I didn't get smart with anyone, so you'd better watch. I owned 2 sportbikes before the F4, and my recent highside was my first serious incident. PLEASE do not get all shitty with me, I don't like being angry, but hotheaded chat like that will do it faster than anything, ESPECIALLY with something that personal. I loved that bike, and I wrecked it. It sux yes, but dumbass comments like that one don't do anything but create anger. So stop already.

BTW: do YOU put 5k on your bike in under 3months? Lemme calculate this for you: that averages around 1,650 miles/month X the 4yrs I've been on sportbikes. That equals more miles than you've probably put on motorcycles and cars combined.

Basically it comes down to this. That was a LOW BLOW, and it was also undeserved. Next time, think before you go talkin' shit.

BTW, the difference between going 120mph and doing 120mph while running is an adrenaline pumped officer driving a large sedan at 120+mph chasing you through the streets. You know... that place where the innocent bystanders are hanging out.

Putting yourself at risk running 120 is one thing, but running from the law and putting others at risk is another. I'm not trying to flame anyone, it is your personal choice, but don't try to pretend that running but from the law is no big deal.

As Tristen said, if you stop they will typically cut you some slack. That has been my experience.

if you can't control an F4's power, you think you can handle a 929's power? Uh uh, I think not! LOL, don't complain to me because you don't know how to ride!!!!! You called Hy a squid and you talk about thinking before you reply? Numbnut!

Rather than reply to your post with the same immaturity and ignorance, I'll just be straight-forward and level-headed. I apologize to any who took the time to read my last post, but those of you who have been riding long enough to experience what I did, know how angry his comments might make me.

Put simply, it wasn't the power of the bike at all. It was road conditions that I didn't know were present. If you haven't dropped your bike yet, be assured you will. Some "accidents" are worse than others. Mine just happened to occur at such a speed and angle that the damage was irreparable, according to Progressive®.

I know I can handle the power of a 929rr without a doubt. The bikes are prone to headshakes, but other than that are very stable and easy to ride. Glad to hear you've been riding for a whole 2 yrs. and all, but that's really not that much experience. Heck, my nine years isn't that much experience.

The "you don't know how to ride" comment isn't even worth replying to. I know I have the ability, and that's all that matters. You can think what you want, but someday you'll realize that experience comes before all, and wrecking is part of the sportbiking experience, although it's hopefully a one time occurence.

Last thing is this: If you actually READ my post, you'll realize that I didn't call him a squid at all. He may be a truly great rider. What I said was that his posts sometimes give the wrong impression. Go back and read it. I think you'll see what I mean. With the "numbnut" comment you showed your true colors. Glad to know you have at least a scant amount of creative talent and don't have to use other's words to belittle them. Haha...it's kind of funny actually.

I'm with Nick here. When he first joined the site, I took him for a squid. Then as time went, he said more and more things that made me realize he was just like the rest of us. He never said anything bad about hy syde except in his original post, he just said he didn't agree with what hy syde said. I don't agree with what hy syde said. I do agree with everything that was originally posted by Nick.

As for lo syde, if you think that someone laying down a bike has something to do with their lack of ability to handle the bikes power, then you have alot to learn. Watch a race once in a while, you will see plenty of vey capable riders lay down their bikes. Wrecks happen, it is a fact of life. All we can do is our best to prevent them. I think that is what Nick was getting at. You will NOT prevent an accident by running from the police, especially when they have a helicopter out after you.

Be smart, ride safe. :)
