Hi everybody,

Time for some new exciting trivia :)

What was the capacity of the smallest 4 cylinder Italian made motorcycle engine and on which bikes was it used?

Hi Tigertex,

Your answer is partly correct.
There was a 250cc Guzzi using that engine but it wasn't named just Guzzi 250 and it wasn't a 1974 model, it had a different codename and it was made a few years later.

Plus the same engine was used on 3 different motorcycles of 3 different brands!

I'm not telling the full answer yet!

Back to the internet, google should do it ;)

:p but I was using google, darn-it. :D I guess it failed me.

I got it off of some cached page. Somebody was trying to sell one.

"1974 Moto Guzzi 250
This was the smallest production Transverse Inline 4 Cylinder made by Moto Guzzi, with the tachometer and speedo factory-mounted on the gas tank. Red, with only 700 original (pre-restoration) miles, a rare treasure at $3,200.00"

There was a CBR250RR and the Phazer 250 (both 4 cyl) but the question is for ITALIAN bikes.
What makes these little Italian screamers interesting is that they were made more than 10 years before the japanese ones!

Tigertex we know you re cheating with google :D
You re getting really close!!

hint: the codename for the engine was 254 as you found, if you use it in google it will give you the bikes that used it!
The Motobi is the one I didn't think anyone would find as it is extremely rare :crying:

Patience is one of my virtues

Now a new question for you, where was the redline starting on the Fazer (FZR) 250?

he he. is somebody actually supposed to just know this stuff?:D

I'm trying to post a picture but having internet problems. I thought the benelli was interesting though. It was developed in 1938 and made about 62 hp. They didn't race it because the war started.

No, I think only crazy people like me remember such useless information :)

The late 30s was the time when the Italians made many multi cylinder race bikes. The top was the Guzzi 500 V8! (see other trivia for details)
