1993 Kawasaki ZR-1100 (now 1322 cc):

Pros:

Air cooled, no boiling over, less maintenance
No fairing to scratch or wax
low seat height
Maneuvers easily at very slow speeds
lots of power, no downshifting on hills (in top gear)
Givi hard luggage and trunk
Great commuter bike
reworked suspension makes handling pretty decent
looks cool
quiet

Cons:

No fairing
No stereo
No heel toe shifter
wife says pillion is too harsh (I guess that could be a "pro")
a bit heavy (but light compared to my old Venture)
Detailing is, well, detailed.
twin shock rear end.
Carbs are extremely difficult to R&R

2004 Honda Hornet 600 (599 4 u @ the states)

pros:

- excellent linear delivery from the engine, usable midrange
- reliable like a Honda should be ;)
- comfortable seat
- bright lights
- ok brakes
- soft and easy to ride, a very good bike to learn

cons

- uncomcortable due to wind blast on the highway
- front sping too soft under hard braking
- small tank range
- oem exhaust too silent for my taste (shorted with a micron race pipe ;) )
- seat position not very good for sport riding
- the pegs will touch down relatively easy

Full Muzzy with carbon can, Power Comm lll USB, K&N, Corbin, GIVI, Rear tail integrator.

Pro:
Awesome looks (great looking motor)
Ease of maintenance (no body panels to remove)
Cheeper to insure
More comfy to ride on longer distances
Takes 15min. to clean
Will handle and keep up with the best of them

Con:
Cheeper suspension components (only one fork has the adjustment, whats up with that)
LackLuster brakes (they do look good)
Tires ment for high speed touring, not cornering
shitty seat
front fairing not worth a shit

Handles great with cheap suspension? My expirience is that it handles great untill you push it. Then it starts screaming uncle.

LackLuster brakes (they do look good)
I thought the brakes were awsome! As a plus they are very responsive to braided lines/better pads. But they are great to begin with.
The problem, isnt brakes, its forks. Its virtually impossible to brake that bike leaned over. It will stand right up. Thus in a corner you are commited to at least your entry speed, which made me enter the corners abit slow, just in case.

another con
-buzzy clutch lever. Nothing critical, but its oh so annoying. I tried a variety of shims and bushings, none of which lasted more than a few thouthand miles.
Another pro
-Big grin factor!

I've seen others complain about the buzzy clutch lever too. Fortunately I haven't experienced this on mine. I do want to get some dirt bike handles for the brake and clutch though to go along with a nice Renthal handlebar.

2005 Ducati Monster S2R

Just saw the light and traded my metric cruiser for the Monster S2R....WOW

Pro's
This bike rocks, is quick, handles incredible, nimble, looks cool and nothing sounds better than its V-twin growl...kind of like the mustang of sport bikes.

Con's
Seat is hard on the bum after a while...and Ducati accessories are really expensive with limited selection of dealers to choose from...especially in Western Canada.

Right now...I would not trade my monster for anything....I couldn't be happier!!!

82 Katana 750/?

Cons, Piece of crap. Project in the works.

Pros,, Motor out of 1100 GSXR or 1200 Bandit
Swing arm from Gixer, Bandit, or maybe a single sider.

Riding Position, Made to fit like a glove.

Power, Should be lots of power, maybe go 1216 kit, cams, and carbs.

Handling, Better than original with USD forks and a monoshock.

Looks, Stunning.
