Heading into work this morning, I came across my first Rocket III. I followed along behind him for a while (in my truck). Bike still had the paper plate on it, so the rider was taking it easy on the break-in. Even still, he was getting through traffic VERY effectively. The bike has has some SERIOUS roll-on power. Didn't look like the bike was even close to breaking a sweat, but it was dispatching traffic real easily. There is no way any big V-twin cruiser would have even come close in roll-ons. The Rocket III really makes other big cruisers look like lead sleds.

The bike also looked even better in motion than on the showroom. That fat 240mm tire looked pretty sweet from behind as well.

Can't wait to see a full magazine test of the bike. I bet it will have an impressive level of performance.

Sportbike vs Rocket

Well, I think it'll be many more years before I give up sportbikes (if ever). But, if I had the $$$ for BOTH a sportbike and a cruiser, the Rocket III would definitely be it.
