I'm selling my 03 Toyota Tacoma and my 98 f-3 so I can get a new bike. I like my 600, but am thinking of getting a 1000 because the price is not that much different. My only experience is on my Honda (2 years). Whats the difference between the CBR1000RR and GSXR1000? Is the stock suspension better on a 1000 than a 600?

What years are you looking at getting? I like both the 1kRR and gixxer1k but I would say that the gixxer is a better all around bike. The 1kRR is fun because it's a bit more forgiving a better 1st liter bike. But you really can't go wrong with either of them.

In all honestly, if your jumping from an old F3 to a new state of the art liter bike, I wouldn't do it. Just a jump from an old F3 to a new 600 is a world of a difference. Try looking at getting a modern FI 600 or even a 750. Honda 600RR's are fun little bikes and you'll be amazed of the difference (I know I am and I come from an F2 almost the same as the F3). I love my 600RR because of the flickability with going into and out of turns quickly.

I have ridden both ('01 RR and gixxers from various years). And, there really isn't any real difference to speak of btwn the two. Just get the one that is the most comfortable to sit on for you. If it doesn't handle the way you want, thats what the fully adjustable front and rear suspension is for.

Bottom line, you can't go wrong with either one.

Both are above, I have the '00 Honda 929 & the '93 Honda 954 & they are comfortable, easy to handle, for me anyway, bikes. Now if you are talking about the latest they think I would look at the GSXR-1000 because of the slipper clutch. But really I receive a lot of speeding tickets on my sportbikes to even my Yamaha YZF600r of '97 & not in town, but on the hwys & in the twisties.

Though admit the handeling of the 929 & 954 are so much better then my OLD 600r, for they seem to have thier own track when it comes to twisties.

Baz had the sensible questions as to what 600 you were riding & if you were referring to latest or used & older big irons.

i WAS going to abstain from a reply to this but, i had a 03 gixxer 1000 and took the time to dial it in for me and i loved it, best bike in the last 10...then i got a 05 zx 10... it was modded with a bunch of stuff but the retard elimanator took any throttle abrutness away (theres other mods...i think the tre was responsible) and i can say 100% this is the best handling , most confidence inspiriring lterbike i could imagine. no i havent ridden the 1000rr nor the r1. i am tottally in awe at whats available on the showroom floor right now..... it almost doesent seem legal. i read the zx 10 was all nervous and twitchy... i have to say its 95 % stable as the gixxer both on qualifiers. i`m pretty old and dont like alot of trauma, the zx10 does it for me and no, i dont have no stinkin chickin strips.
