Does anyone take their plastics off to give their bike a good thorough clean?
I've been doing alot of rain riding in the past few weeks:crying: and I was wondering if I should strip the bike down and see what sort of crap has made its way into the engine nooks.
Should I spray some sort of rust inhibitor aswell?

I take the side fairings off a couple times a yr and clean out all the crap that you can not normally get to. There really is not a lot of area to be cleaned with the fairings off, but why not when you have some time to kill. I guess if you are a rain rider, you may have some more cleaning to do than I. I can not say I have found any rust, that did not just wipe off.

Hi All-

DeathCannon is right on the money. It sure doesn't hurt to dislodge embedded grit and nastiness from your motorcycle. Doing it while changing oil almost makes it a pleasurable task.
