Have you tried mkeeny's suggestion of using firefox with adblock plus to eliminate the annoying ads?

I agree that the site used to be a whole lot better, but nothing we can do now.

No I talked to headlight yesterday and he said there's a power outage with the main server and that several sites they host were effected. Once they fix the problem it should be back up...

Where were you this morning Dave missed a great ride...

You guys have the same server company as X-Plane.org!

Server Outage
Posted By: nicolas_t @ Today, 05:43 PM
Our hosting company has a major outage yesterday.

Here is their explanation:

"On Saturday, May 31st at 4:55pm CDT in our H1 data center, electrical gear shorted, creating an explosion and fire that knocked down three walls surrounding our electrical equipment room. Thankfully, no one was injured. In addition, no customer servers were damaged or lost.

We have just been allowed into the building to physically inspect the damage. Early indications are that the short was in a high-volume wire conduit. We were not allowed to activate our backup generator plan based on instructions from the fire department."

They are slowly getting it back. Sorry for the delay.

Thanks to Peter Meinenger for his help.

Sorry guys forgot I could still come over here and post. Yes the fire at The Planet is the cause of your server outage, and to compound the issue our server sits on the 1st floor which they are having trouble getting back online. We are not the only one's being affected by this.

A fire at The Planet's H1 data center in Houston, Texas on Saturday has taken out thousands of websites.

In messages posted on the web hosting firm's forum, the company blamed a faulty transformer for the fire. No servers or networking equipment were damaged, but the data centre remains without power, after The Planet shut down all generators "as instructed by the fire department.

About 9,000 servers and 7,500 customers are affected by the outage. B3ta.com, a popular British comedy site, is a high profile casualty.

The Planet is posting hourly updates on its forum. It has five other data centers, which remain up and running. ®

Doesn't reduce, it completely eliminates them. I honestly have no idea what ads everyone is talking about. The key is installing Adblock Plus, which is also free from Mozilla. I never see any ads anywhere on the internet. I don't know why anyone would continue to use internet explorer.

Why put a link to your myspace acct if you won't let anyone in to see it. Last name or email security... Top secret stuff in there huh??
My bad, I didn't realize that was set that way. Try it now. If it doesn't work, pm me.

I have firefox but use internet explorer primarily since my few hundred shortcuts are in IE.

That aside, customer ethics would tell me to make a web site comfortable for all customers, not just ones with ad blockers.

If you were an independent writer for a paper or mag.,
would you only export in pdf if most of your customers used msWord?

Few Hundred, that's like barely even 1% of all the porn on the internet, I'm disappointed.

Doesn't it give you a choice to import all that when you first install firefox?
