What kind of micrometer are you using?

Style not brand

Dial or screw-handle?

If dial, what markings are on it?

I now found out it's not metric. It's a 0-1"
and it's a dial screw type. Looks sorta like a c-clamp.

So, your mic will span the range of 1". Dial should be labeled ... .1, .2, .3, etc.

Now run mic through its entire range and see how many times needle spins around dial. It should be one or two times.

Hopefully, if it spins once, you can figure it out from here. If it spins twice, after one dial revolution, you have arrived at .5". Measuring things greater than 1/2" would just have you add .5" to whatever dial reads.

Make sense? If not, post what markings are on the dial. I can't quite see them from here...
