Valentine One. The best. Period.

I have used Bell and Escort products, they are not bad but are inferior to Valentine One. Expensive but worth it. The directional feature alone is worth the extra money. And the fewest false alarms. Bell, they go off all the time, seems like they pick up every garage door opener, auto opening store door, burglar alarm, etc.

Lidatek?

Have you used this Laser Jammer? I know it jams laser but not to sure about detecting radar? Anyone have any info on this? According to their website they are updating the model so there are no specifics on it.

There was another thread where a law enforcement member stated his opinion about this subject. I agree with what he said, that laser detectors are not effective.

I read a magazine test of that jammer, and it did absolutely nothing. 'Course, that was about four or five years ago, maybe they changed it, but the laser beam is a narrow beam that can be put onto any small area that is reflective to get a return signal, so it could completely miss a detector.

The Jammer? I'd say you have to just ride mellow if you feel you are somewhere that they use the laser guns.

I am using this stuff from Radio Shack that is not velcro but a locking panel sort of like velcro, for heavy objects, it sticks on in strips in two sections (like velcro stick on). I put it in the center top portion of the windshield, because it is the only place I can see the unit when I am riding.

Then I have the cord (they use modular telephone plugs) coming off the top triple tree, with power hard wired into the bike directly to the battery (with a fuse).

You can get an accessory for Valentine One that will allow the use of a headphone, which helps, but it means not using one earplug, which on my bike is not desireable (very loud exhaust system at highway speeds).

I contacted the company that makes the intercom I use on the bike (Autocom, in England) to see if they can make me a plug for the headphone, so the signal can be amplified. Now I have to figure out the time change from Pacific Coast to England.

thanks for the link, i will check it out. i went 18 years without a ticket... i now have a COURT date at the end of the month. the cop wrote us up for 53 mph's over the limit, and drag racing (innocent on that one...but it's pretty much a moot point now). i have said i was going to get a detector ever since i got my R1. the local cops leave the gun on all the time. a detector (or if i had any sence...lol) would have saved me a wad of cash. it's gonna cost some serious dough to survive this one.
thanks guys...

I use radar "effector" not a detector

Just get that cocky little jerk that you can't stand ...you know the type.:finger: Suck up to him and get him to ride with youand tell him at every intersection...."RACE YA TO THE NEXT INTERSECTION"... then let him win...just keep him in sight. If the man is out there ....guess you he's going to grab....:D :D
