At this time, 0045, Saturday, my time, I'm reading your post for the first time and am kind of shocked that no one has replied yet. People don't like to discuss this kind of thing because it's upsetting. I agree, it is. I've lost a friend in an uggggggly bike wreck. Didn't see it, thank God. I've also seen many friends wad their bikes into little tiny balls of recycleable materials and get hurt in the process. So, I know how you feel.
It's obvious to me that you posted this because you had some stuff to get off your chest. That's OK, man. I get into that kind of mood all of the time. With everything that goes on in anyone's life these days, it's amazing that we're all not crazy. It's always shocking to me when I see a motorcycle accident; whether or not I'm riding the bike at that exact moment makes no difference at all. Most of us have wiped out and gotten hurt. Some of us (me) MORE than once and know the sheer terror that is present in that 1/2 of a nanosecond when you realize "oh shit, I can't save it/brake in time/lean far enough 'cause I'm already scraping the pegs/catch the rear, and I'm gonna wipe big-time. That is a feeling that I don't like and hope to not see again any time soon. However, i understand the nature of the beast. If you ride a sport bike and ride it the way that God intended it to be ridden, it's just a matter of time before a "gravity equalization process" occurs. When you decide to dance with the devil because it's a whole lot of fun, you must accept the consequences. Personally, I'd rather live my way for a week than live how someone else tells me to for 10 years. That's why I ride my bike with a vengence. Dont' get me wrong....it's not paid for!!!!! So I don't want to be stuck w/a hefty monthly bill and not get any "oh yeah!" out of it......just that I keep this state of mind and hold it dear.....make sense? Hope so. Life is too short to ride anything else but a fire breathing sport bike. Ride it fast. Be proud. Pull wheelies. Do burnouts in the parking lot of the local eating establishment. Tell them "I rock, baby!" Be proud. This has been a "big soapbox post", courtesy of Cosmo. Later.

"Do you know how fast you were going, son?" "Gee officer, if I guess right, can I go home?"
