Yup, Punching out the old 600 block, to acomidate racing. I'm going 1.0 over, and want to know the formula on how many cc I gained. Any body know? I'm also going with a Falcon Crank and Megacycle cams, any body know about these products?
Thanks

You can use this formula: Bore Diameter in Inches X Bore Diameter in Inches X .7854 X Stroke in Inches X 16.3871 (this # converts to cc's) X number of Cylinders.

I gave that formula a try, but came up short. The bore of the 599cc motor is 65 mm, or 2.56 inches. The stroke is 45.2 mm or 1.78 inches. If I'm going over 1.0, I'd be running a bore of 66 right? The number punched on the piston, is 100. With the formula I get it only at 602.something.
Is this right?

You must have done something wrong. Your 66mm pistons should give you about 618.55cc displacement.

YamahaKid's formula is correct.

You could also do it this way:

Pi X Radius(squared) = area of a circle, so...
3.1415926 X 33 X 33 = 3421.194

Area X Stroke = Volume...
3421.194 X 45.2mm = 154,637.97mm(cubed) per piston
(154.638cc) X 4 cylinders = 618.552cc total

Right on, Thanks. Does anyone know how far over I can go, but still run the 600 class?
I think it's 620 in Canada, anybody know?
Thanks again for the formula.

In AMA 600SS it is basically none. I don't think you are allow to remove any metal other than what is done when honing the cylinders for a rebuild.

Someone with the "exact" rules should be able to clarify this. I have no experience with the AMA Supersport bikes.
