Does anyone know how much the out the door price should be on a $10,399 MSRP bike(AKA gsxr1000)? What would be a good deal?

I live in Orange, CA and the dealer in newport said its not nagotioable. it will be 12,500 out the door. He said he has four and can sell them all in the same month and has no need to nagotiate. Is he full of shit cuz he's a sells man or does this carry some truth?

I'm planning on buying the TL and the gsxr, so would I get a good deal? What kind of deal could I expect reasonable?

P.S. any one wana buy a 2001 red r6 with 15k miles for 6k?

If you check out www.chicagocycle.com you'll see them selling the 2001 GSXR-1000's, (w/ MSRP of $10,399), for only $8699 + tax and destination. (Dest charges are around $300). If you're willing to take $5600 for that R6, my girlfriend would be extremely interested. (We live in Indianapolis, IN ... but would be interested in a road trip:D )

You put 15,000 miles on an R6 in less than a year??? What did you do? Ride it across the country every week?

Also, prices will come down on the GSXR 1000's in a few months, once everyone who pre-ordered them pick them up. Oh, and your bike salesman IS right, he doesn't have to negotiate right now, but that doesn't make him not a dickhead.:D

(PS: Buy a TL. v-Twins are WAY better!;) ;) ;) )

Sounds about right to me. In the month and a half I have had my bike insured this year, have put on 18000 kms (11k miles).

I think it just makes a big difference if you ride full time (all week then tour every weekend as well). The first few weeks of riding is sure hell after a lazy winter though, hehe :D

$12500 sounds about right, the prices won't go down until they start to make room for next years models and they might not drop much.

You're going to buy both a GSXR1000 and a TL1000 (the R, I'm sure). Why? Aren't you 16, and the R6 is your first bike?

well, I don't know what to say, really........other than what is it you do for a living with all that computer stuff in your basement?

The TL100R.

I design database/web applications using VB, SQL Server, and many of the web program/designing languages. I design company website powered from databases, and database powered by computer app's.

For instance, I am working on a program that manages a clients company's inventory, sales, website, E-Mail, creates confirmations/packing lists and distributors. That program is built of information requested from the database (SQL server), which can be located anywhere in the world (Which also means the program works anywhere in the world as long as there is internet). Then the websites products page gets build off the inventory from the program. Customers can now login using assigned username/passwords and create orders, view confirmations/packing lists and get direct support from the company's employees, all from the website. All the information provided in the website is built off the database.

In about 2 more weeks I will be about ready to stop using VB and change over to C++. When that happens.... All possibilities will be endless.

On the same server that the company owns, I set up VPN so other branches/offices can connect to each other and act like they are the same network. I.E. drag-drop files to other computers, use each other’s printers, etc and so on, and so on.

The servers are setup to only allow access to a certain scope of IP address, this was if you are not using a computer from there company, you will be rejected.

The programs allow you to set up capture cards to stream video to the server. From there the boss, or who ever, can monitor all parts of his branches (Video) through the internet.

Ok, you sound reasonably intelligent when discussing your job. If you sounded half as intelligent when posting on other topics, you might not get as much shit from people.

Seriously, if you have the skills, you can probably afford the bikes and insurance. Good luck.
