My Brothers and Sisters......STOP ME BEFORE I DO SOMETHING EVEN MORE STUPID!!!!

I can't believe it. I went out and spent perfectly good money on a ROAD SOFA!!! Money I could have spent on another riding school, on stickier tires, on ANOTHER SPORTBIKE for cryin' out loud. But no, I spent it on an 800 pound Road Sofa.......

It looked good, rode well, and minded it's manners. I was taken in by it's many charms; the stereo, the cigarette lighter AND the Yosemite Sam mudflap (with the optional LEDs shooting out of his guns when the brake lights come on). At least two of my riding buddies have refused to return my calls.........

So, I need your help (once again). I'm thinking the obvious: Vance and Hines pipes, K&N, re-jetting, some stickier skins front and rear, torching off the luggage, and going from there.

Any other suggestions?

Stereo, cigarette lighter, mudflaps??? Are you sure you bought a bike? ;)

I think you should get those Cobra straight pipes and go give the Harley's a headache. Oh yeah, then go trade it for a sportbike or sportbike accessories and be happy :D

To be honest with ya', I think variety is a good thing.

Idon't see anything wrong with going somewhere you've never been, or buying something you've never had. Enjoy.

Well, enjoy it I have. I have put about 400 miles on it the last four days, and it doesn't cease to amaze me that a bike THAT BIG can actually handle that well.

A good friend of mine (and ex-Venture owner), rode me on it for about 100 miles and made some pertinent suggestions as to how I might increase performance. Putting air in the front tire, pumping up the air-ride suspension, and installing a new rear tire were just some of the ideas he had. Believe it or not, they worked!

Some of the actual motivation for buying the thing in the first place had to do with the 1100 mile round trip we all made recently to the Sportbike races at Road America. We're planning on doing the same for Brainerd later this month. My poor old body can only handle the YZF for about an hour and a half at a time in stealth cruise mode. With the Road Sofa, I'm hoping to extend that range.

Don't worry, I'm not abandoning the Crotch Rocket for anything. If I could just figure out how to trailer the YZF behind the Venture..............

The Venture is a beautiful bike, I think it will definately give Goldwings competition. The bike is pretty big too, couldn't you put your YZF in one of the cargo cases? :D

Have fun cruising (in comfort!)

AAAAAHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!

Oh why am I complaining. I was out looking at 2000 HD Softails Monday. Getting tired of the punk wanna-be racers here in S. WI. Sat two dipsticks (a ZX-6R and a CBR929)followed each other into a ditch at high speed. See what happens when a 17yr old gets a new 929 and he was still on a learners permit! Geez, mommy and daddy must be proud. Kinda like the rich boy last year. Wadded his 996SPS doing a wheelie and sent it to a scrap yard. The next week he ditched his Viper (scrapes, scratches and cracks on the pass side) trying to out tun a Mustang (not a GT even). Guess someone should LEARN TO DRIVE first. He showed up tonight when all the bikes were out, bragging how he's gonna get a MV Agusta for his birthday. Must be nice to have mommy and daddy buy everything for you. NOT!! Maybe they should make him get a job to pay for everything he wants. Oh well, off to another HD dealer tommorrow.

Actually. VYPR, since the bike came with a small trailer, I was thinking.......

NAW!!!! How stupid would that look, riding up to Brainerd the end of July with a YZF600 strapped to the trailer? On the other hand, I have a 50cc Honda Express that might fit.....

And what is this, Rob? Looking at Hardly Dollardsons? Well, at least they have two wheels............

If I get one its gonna need 2 more wheels. About 2" wheels on the oil pan the has to drag under the bike.

Personally, I'd have a touring bike as well if I could afford one... As much as I love riding my 748s, I'd really like to have something that's more comfortable and that I could comfortably do some 2-up touring with my wife on (in addition to my 748, not in place of). My bike rips in the twisties, but it's also the most uncomfortable bike I've ever ridden when you're on the hwy. Having said that tho, I wouldn't trade it in on anything (including a 996!)! I do wonder if you could trailer your sportbike with it tho - that'd be WAY COOL!
