Nipples

745 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  scotty
Probably a dumb question, but my bike has a threaded "nipple" welded onto the frame on the left-hand side. There is no corresponding "nipple" on the right side. What's it for? Do all bikes come with it?

Sounds like the stearing damper mount. :)

I can't believe this is what I opened a nipple thread for.

The new ZX-6R has one too. It doesn't seem to line up right for a steering dampner though. could make a great camera mount.

You get the best thrills on two wheels!
John,
The steering damper is already installed just beneath the headlights. This nipple thingy is welded to the frame just forward of my knee on the port side. It sticks out about 1.5 inches or so. At first I thought maybe it had something to do with the manufacturing process, but it is just on that one side.
Help me Obiwan, you're my only hope!
