I finally got a bike. I'm new to sportbikes (and motorcycles in general) and just got my first bike ever. A 2001 Suzuki Bandit 1200s. I love it. I'm taking it easy and just driving the speed limit while I'm learning to ride but I find it so easy to look at the speedometer and see that i'm doing 10-15 miles over the limit. Its incredible. I dont know why I ever waited so long to get one. I've been riding it back and forth to work, which is 110 mile round trip, and its been getting 45 miles to the gallon. That is a big plus with the way gas prices are.

Congrats on the new ride.

Be careful. You'll be okay until you think you know what you're doing; usually 2000 - 3500 miles. That's when you have to be even more careful.

have fun, ride safe.:)

Congrats on the new bike. I lusted after the 2001 Bandit 1200 for a while when it first came out. Still am....a little. The price of the Bandit is just so close to a 600 race replica so it's hard to resist considering the smaller sportbike.

Have fun and be extra careful. First 3 months on a new bike is usually when you're most vulnerable.
