my dealer sucks worse than yours!!!!

as i mentioned quite some time ago, my gsxr was abused while parked somewhere.

i took it to my dealer (who i now hate) to get my estimate. the estimater (dan) says don't bother ordering parts they'll never come, i said not problem, i'll buy the upper off a racer selling the bodywork off for track money.

well, i'm waiting to get my damn check (about $500 buck).

finally i called the insurance company and they said they sent it to the dealer.

because of my job, i had my mom call to get my check. they tell her, no, they ordered the parts it's too late.

so i told her to call them back and tell them i can get one for 125 off a friend (a lie), i want my check. they say no again, because it takes 30 of back order before they can cancel an order, an order i didn't even @#$!ing place.

well, friday night i come back into town and all i can say is they better have my money.

i have called suzuki customer service, and i'm waiting for a return call. i'm am so pissed it's not even funny.

when the check is in my hand, i will give you all more details, including the dealer's name and suzuki's actions on the matter.

i have always discouraged blowing up in a dealer, but saturday i'm going to bang some @#$!ing heads together.

to top it off, it's going to rain all weekend. at least i'll be plenty pissed.

I wouldn't blame the dealer, what were they to think when the check showed up?
Good lesson here- NEVER let the insurance company OR a shop "take care of everything". Be proactive- tell the Insurer that you want a check cut to YOU, and let the shop that does the estimate know that the estimate is for insurance purposes only, and that after the claim is settled, you will let them bid on the part or all of the work.
You couldn't have known this, just a heads up for anyone else that goes thru this.

Tony,

If they cashed the check, get ready to sue :) But in any case good luck and keep me posted I am quite curious.

Oh this is going to be a looooong thread!

I drive 20 miles PAST the nearest dealership because they are THAT bad. I have actually had better luck with the little tiny shops like Cycle City, if you have those.

CBRF2boy,

I use to work for a Body shop so I know a little about inurance companies. First off the check should have went to the dealer in your name unless you signed a DRP (direct repair order) if you did that the check will be in the dealers name. If not the check will be in your name and you don't have to sing it :) But on the topic of [email protected]#tty dealers listen to what mine has done to me over the last year.

I have a 98 900RR it had a real bad backfire so I brough it in. They hit with 2 carb syncs at 100 bucks a pop. come to find out there was a cap missing off the 4th carb. You think they would have told me. About a month ago, I called the dealer to order MEz3's. The dealer told me they had the back but not the front to schedule with service and they'd order the tire. 2 weeks later I drop the bike off. Before I leave I figured I'd check and make sure everything was there, including the braided brake lines.

Well guess what no MEZ3's so the dealer gives me a discount on dunlops and tells me how much better they are.

Day 2 I go to pick up the bike which should now have a 190 on the back but it doesn't. There is a 180 and on top of that they scratched up my rim. I scream hollered kicked and so on. End up getting the service for free and the parts at 10% off. Unfortunatly they are the only Honda dealer near me :( So needless to say almost all my work is going to be done by me now. Expect many posts, cause I have never ventured into mc mechanical work :)

erik,

you are indead right. i don't understand the situation. i don't know what they did with the check. i don't know if they cashed and if they did how, if they're holding it or what. i have never dealt with such...nevermind, i won't get into it.

i just spoke with my agent again and they aren't very happy either. so now the insurance company is supposed to be getting in touch with them, as soon as the agent himself shows up.

i try to be the most patient person with dealerships. i understand they have problems and everything, but this just insane.

i would have been insane over the carb synch thing though.

it sucks when there aren't alot of dealers around. i didn't wanna drive a long way to get the estimate done. and my normal mechanice when i can't fix it myself works for a shop that won't do insurance quotes on brands they don't sell.
