First time out with the new 04 R1 on the track in anger, really - this bike is quite something!

Qualified somewhere mid-field but I had really bad starts in both races which got me far back before I got my act together and could start picking my way up the field. In the end I ended up a combined 6th, my best position so far this year! I also got down into the 2.23's so very happy with that. The feeling of getting on the podium in front of the big crowd was quite something.

Had an exciting fight with Silva in both races (he might not see it the same way, damn those 1000's!). He would go into the corners so much quicker than me but on the next straight I was able to easily pass him.

Looking good there YP!!

So how did the larger grid with pros mixed with the slows go :p

I thought the GP was a fairly boring affair with Rossi giving the rest a serious lesson once again :thumb:

Bring on P.I this weekend :D

GP / MSS weekend

Gotta admit that was a far from relaxing weekend. As most of you are aware i am currently on a fark off floater on its way to an oil field in the middle of the Natuna Sea (240K NE of Singers).

last weekend was a a real struggle condsidering my work commitments anyway, i had an appauling qualifiying session, putting in 33's. I couldn't believe it, i rode my socks off, really giving it everying and getting the back end quite loose around a lot of the corners (it felt fast and probably looked it too). I also found out my lap timer was very dirty on the inside so i unintensionally washed it with soapy water whilst i got some brolly burds to polish me beast! Came in on friday evening to an dismal 40th on the grid.

Race day came and with a new set of tyres which might i add was another stressfull affair. Despite putting my bike in the Pirelli queue at 12.00, it didn't get done till 5.20 with the race at 6. A hex bolt on my forks had not been torqued properly and couldn't be removed then when i finally went to take my bike away at about 5.30 i realised they put the rong tyres on, 180's instread of 190's.

once the lights had gone out, i had totally forgotten about all that and had a fantastic race, unfotunately with a load of girls bikes. Was quite fun though trying to take them in the twisties. Milton had a better start than me however i was lapping slightly quickier than him. Unfortunately he highsided out of 8 which put me into 2nd. Would have prefered to take him on the outside at turn 10!

Second race was really good but not as good as the first. Did a PB of 27.1, 6 seconds quicker than my qualifiying time. Didn't think sh!t tyres would make that much difference.

Second overall in the Novice Superbikes. Was a lot of fun walking around the pits and then the airport with a helmet, sepang shirt, pit pass and a trophy, Felt like i was back in China again with the number of photos i had taken. What a ponce!

So this is it for me, not back on dry land until the second half of November. I have already claimed my bitches so they know whos boss! I am sure i will find time to reas the posts since i am not ridding.

Can anybody tell me Peter Lim's website, don't have it saved on this computer and trying to find it is like trying to tell Boycie his bike is fine.

What is it with you Boycie, you don't seem to be happy unless you have found somthing wrong with your bike! You nearly, sorry you did have the gearbox stripped since you thought it was farked, in actual fact it was your new boots leaning on the lever. What a mong!:rolleyes:

Humble Pie

I got an awful lot this GP weekend from all corners, not only for my gearbox nonsense but also on the track. Spineless starts and only managing 2:28's. A personal best but in comparison very poor indeed :(

The lap times from our lot were amazing. Carl never ceases to amaze me with his improvements same goes for Silver who despite his crash at AsiaPac really got it together for this race. I said this in the car but...Conglaturations both on a supelv felpolmance!

BBQ also deserves a mention................but I can't bring myself to do it. It's just unnatural for me to pay compliments to wimmin with more than 14 pairs of shoes and minors.

Hanu trully is a machine, he's always talked like one but clocking a 2:21 with no track time since the last race just proves it.

All in all a good gig, surprisingly. 48 bikes and five classes was a receipe for disaster but there were relatively few accidents which was encouraging.

to all you guys who took part! I dont mind tellin you there were a few boys in the stands Sunday morning that took their hats off to you guys taking part and would have loved to being taking part as well. Great race boys and well done for not having a mass pile up at turn 1 ( a couple of us couldn;t even watch). What a grid:eek:

It was great to be in the stands and watch and they even had beer this year:cheers: Top result.

YP: pity the IKEA sponsor ship fell thru

BBQ: Don't worry, getting home in 1 piece is a result!

Boycie: "only managing 2:28's" I'm willing to dent your tank so yer gut fits and you can lie on it on the straights ( 2 secs at least).
Lookin smooth in the corners but like a pizza boy on the straights:crying: Having said that i can understand you not lying down on the tank with yer arse in the air when Will is around

Well done Slasher for having more excuses than Boycie and still comin 3rd. Oh and bringing your own crowd, WTF is that all about:barf:

I was there and saw everything and everyone rode like a big bunch of girlies ....

I did a 2.19 in the carpark ....

Well, I enjoyed the weekend too, even though, as usual, I had trouble keeping up with the safety car. Let's see now, I compute that Rossi's average speed is only 20mph more than mine, shouldn't be that hard.

I think the highlight was watching Rossi blasting out of T2 21 times like he was on a rocket-propelled sledge; he and Biaggi didn't short-shift halfway there like everyone else; massive speed through T3. Try stand K1 next time, the one overlooking T1/T2, great view all the way from the T1 200m post through to the T4 exit.

Congrats to Slasher, HH, YP, Silva and young BBQ for excellent performances (pretty good in the bedroom too, BBQ) and I'd be happy with Boycie's times. And thanks to BP, Tug and Simon for supporting.

:D :D :D ... It looks like the club has reached an all time legendary level of filth ... whith 'Captain porn' commenting on the performance of BBQ in the bedroom (whom he shared one with over the weekend), and thinking longingly about Boycies 'somethin' ....

Most of you dont know it but I got the lap record on Sunday night, well chuffed:cool: Shaved almost a second off my previous best with a 2. 18. 5 and that was in the wet. Some slob splashed JD up at turn 5, its a tricky track that one in the beach club:eyebrows:

Good to catch up with all of you:)

What else is a guy to do when those 1000cc bikes cannot get their braking points right and I have to show them they can probably start braking a 100m later... :D :D :p

Thats the one, interesting did you learn it from the ten pin bowling school:D I was always under the impression that to out brake another rider it was important to continue round the corner and not to set op a road block:twofinger

Have to say, it would've been much more fun if it was a 600cc race only. Racing with the 1000cc was an experience again for sure, but it caused a couple of "situations". Mind you, even with the different braking antics the times were much faster than last year's. Compared to the MotoGP support race last year, I improved my best laptime by 7 or 8 seconds.

I also looked back on the times we did in 2002 and 2003 for the support races (all being over 10 laps). Slasher won Race 1 in 2002 with a total time of 25:36.619 (I didn't save the time sheets for the 2nd race).
Last year, Matt Patterson won both races. Race 1 was done in 23:34.496 and Race 2 was done in 24:05.144.
This year, Lee (Panjang) won Race 1 in 23:18.070 and one of the Petronas riders (Suhadi) won Race 2 in 23:24.047.

Looking at the above and the times we did this year I have to say that I'm very happy with how it went. After my crash at the AsiaPac, and problems with work I didn't really feel 100% on Friday. It's now kind of nice to see that my time from Race 2 this year would have beaten Rod Scott's time from Race 2 last year by 7 seconds. I would also have beaten Slasher's winning time from 2002 by 1min 8sec.

I guess the road block tactics were effective to some extent at least. :cool: :cool:

Lap times

Guys are just getting faster and faster every year and quite a lot in every race. You don't have to go back to year 2002 or 2003 to see it, just take a look at the lap times from 3 first races in this year. For instance my total time in race 3 was around the same with winning time on race 1 but on race 3 I lost 30 seconds to winner and that is almost half a lap! If you clock the same laptimes than in a previous race your position will be dropped quite a lot.

Anyway, Nils, very good lap times considering your crash and lack of confidence with your bike. Ex-Sporting crew did a good job once again to put it back to business! :thumb:

Also it was a nice to see the whole Team Scandinavia in the podium!
