Met a police officer that rides

Fist time I ever talked to a cop that rides and talks enthusiastically about riding with a passion for the sport, kind of cool. He told me he rides a gixxser and I asked him why he never hangs out with the rest of the crowd at the local spot. The main reason why he dosent is that it's a conflict of interest to him because there is a squid in every crowd that will run or do wheelies down the main road. The conversation made me wonder later, Do cops that ride get down and dirty when knowone is looking or do they uphold the laws they enforce while on duty? I think they bend the rules a little :D

I ride once in a while with a local cop around
here and he rides wheelies and moves a long
at a good clip. Well he pulls them, doesn't
ride them, but hey, for a cop - that rocks! He's
a way cool chap too. Great to have around
when I get ticketed. :)

Do you offer to take them out for Bear Claws and coffee in this situation? :D

That's like asking if cops ever drink and drive? Of course they do. Probably just as much if not more than the rest of us. If they get stopped all they have to do is show there get out of jail free card. (badge)

After all, they ARE above the law. :D

I know of a State Trooper from a midwestern state that frequents the Deal's Gap region with his 'Busa. He actually ran from a law enforcement helicopter in NC and actually got away from them. Not exactly the best example he could set. A couple of the guys there got stopped and questioned about the incident. :(

Go ahead and start the jokes, but presently I am in the academy. One of the cops I work with has a ZX11. I was doing 135 on the speedo and he blew by me like I was standing still. Also the get out of jail free card, sorry, but we call it "professional courtesy" see the difference? And not every officer gives those. Kind of a personnal thing, depends on where you are. And yes it is a conflict of interest to ride with some people because word could get back to the chief via someone arrested or to be arrested and that would not be good. How do you explain to the judge that the ticket you gave someone is different than when the defendant saw officer bob doing the same thing last month.
Basically we all know what sportbikes are purchased to do.
Pick up chicks right?

or guys for the ladies and RCJohn.

Let's call the whole thing off. :) :)

I'm not saying it's a bad thing. If I was a cop I would expect it too...Call it a perk, call it whatever you want, but it is what it is.
