Sometimes I cruise around town at 3000-4500 RPM. I know it's considered abusive if you rev the crap out of an engine for an extended period of time, but is the opposite true? I'm thinking not, but then again, why would I ask if I was sure? :D

If it's struggling and shuddering when your revs are in that range then it it's not doing your engine any good. Keep it smooth.

Engines can take alot. Its alot healthier for the engine to be at high rpms (just not exceeding the redline of course) then to be at too low RPM's (aka Lugging the engine). Lugging is bad
