This is a quote from a south florida sportbike club.

DO NOT POST ANY FUTURE GATHERING'S IN THIS CLUB!!!
This club has been found by the local police departments and is being monitored on a regular basis!!! They took a certain member's PHOTO and MESSAGE and made photocopies of both and handed them out to every officer in the area(This is regarding the North Port Ride) and told each officer to arrest this individual if he/she is spotted in the area.
AGAIN, PLEASE DO NOT POST ANY FUTURE EVENTS ON HERE!!!! I also suggest that you remove any phto's of yourself on here, they have already made one positive ID!!!

Personally I doubt it but.... it brings up some questions. How do yall feel about the internet being monitored? Surely it is, but where should a line be drawn? I believe Florida legislatures are currently attempting to pass legislation in regards to importing or downloading child porn off of the internet (obviously should be illegal), how much prying would it take before it began to impeed on peoples right to privacy etc even though this and anything else on the internet could be posted in a public forum?

Almost O/T but in regards to the child porn - now the sick bastards are creating their own kiddie porn with computer animation. Just as disgusting as the real thing, only not involving real children. What do you think of that? How are legislatures supposed to deal with that?

As far as "monitoring" the internet goes, it's kind of a non-issue to me. The internet is a public domain. Posting something on the internet is really no different than posting it on a message board in the town square. Unless you have a private site designed to keep intruders out, anyone can "wander by" and look at it all they want. The problem arrises in the way the information is used or misused. There are no details about why they want to arrest this individual. They may have a good reason, in which case using a picture and personal info from a public source like the internet is fine. If it's being used purely to harrass their group of riders that would of course be wrong. But the problem there isn't the fact that they got the info from the net, the problem is the way it's used. IMO :)

I'd have to agree with Birdman. The Internet is public domain and everyone has the right to see this info. If there is something you don't want public, don't post it on the 'net.

I believe law inforcement authorities should have unlimited access to the 'net as long as they use it to enforce the laws of the land.

I guess it would all depend on the way it used. I also assume that most everyone here is familar with internet "cookies" and the way they track you. I guess that we are basically tracked as to every site we visit.

Well to be truthful, the government monitors everything you do. The know who you call and when you call them....they monitor everything besides how many times you piss each day. Its no surprise to me that this is happening. I would suggest they start a newsletter via. e-mail. Also what are they doing soo wrong at these gatherings that makes the cops dig so hard to find them? Internet is public and anyone is allowed to view.....PERIOD.
