Hi all. Just registered, new member here.

A bit of background. I had a 2000 ZX9R a while back. Beautiful bike, factory purple and red color scheme. I'll have to dig up some pics of it. Sold it back in 2010 to free up some money for a house. Miss it dearly everyday. Bought a house and started a family. I've had the itch to get back on and ride. I just loved to ride...fast! Never got into stunts. Not my thing. I got the wheel up accidentally a few times. Nearly crapped myself, haha! I don't have much time to ride now with my youngest not in school and home with me all day. Hopefully by next season I'll be riding. Looking into getting a used bike. My biggest fear...correct me if I'm wrong...most sport bikes have been worked hard. Nature of the beast, they beg to be rode hard! I just really like the style of bike and enjoy the ride, nothing crazy. With that said, would it be safe to say a 600cc bike is beat on more than a 1000cc bike? My thought process is most get 600cc bikes to learn on and start tricking with. I think I'm leaning toward a 1000cc bike. Just makes sense to cruise around town with, no need to rev the crap out of them just to generate some torque. My other fear is older bike parts becoming obsolete. How old too go??? Seems to be the trend these days. Just had to upgrade my cell phone, support was dwindling for my 5 year old iPhone, haha.

Just for the record, my ZX9R has been the only street bike I've ridden. Plenty of off road experience...back in my younger days. So I guess I'm a bit bias when it comes to bike style and engine size. It's all I know, but quickly fell in love with it!

Looking forward to become part of this great community!
