I just got some Alpinestar leather pants. I'm 6'2" and on the first ride after about 30 miles, my legs were killing me. The material on the back of the leg was digging into my kneepits. I really couldn't angle my leg out as I went into turns, but I figure this will get better as the leather breaks in. My legs are bent so much, that I'm wondering if I should have some material taken out of the back of the leg, or if that will loosen up too? The pants otherwise fit perfect.

thanks for any info.

Most quality leather pants have stretch panels behind the knees so that your situation doesn't occur. Does yours have that? If not, I'm not so certain your situation will improve, since leather stretches but doesn't (in my memory) shrink.

yeah it's the stretch panel from just above the back of my knee to the bottom. But with my leg bent, it's all crumpled up and digs into my tendons.

Give them a chance to break in. New leathers can be uncomfortable.

I don't know what to say. I ride two hours a day, and haven't had any issues with the panels (Fieldsheer Tungstens), but I'm on a bike that doesn't have me real "scrunched" up. Can you drop your rearsets to get a straighter leg?

Try going to the gym or eating a steak and potato and put some mass on those legs!! That will probably help....I am thinking you probably have some scrawny legs and that is the problem with the fit.....no flame intended!:twofinger

It sounds dumb, but, trying pulling your pants up, I wear my jeans around my hips, but the leathers have to be worn around my belly button or else they`re uncomfertable everywhere. I just rode to Florida and back in mine (Teknic Thunders) and had no problems what so ever. Aside from that, all I can do is agree with everyone else... let them get broken in and then see what happens.
