My buddy came over on his RC51 and I helped him work on his bike. My payment? He let me take it out for a little spin yesterday (yes, we were out riding yesterday). Wow, I knew it was a nice bike but gosh I wasn't prepaired for it. I have not ridden as many different bikes as some people but I have ridden my fair share, and many of them are tweaked race bikes. These are my impressions about the RC.
First time I jammed the brakes on I all but racked myself on the tank (my arms weren't fully braced and the turn came up quicker than expected) but the brakes on it are sweet! We were riding next to each other (he was on my 900SS), when we both wacked it open, I absolutely left him in the dirt. The bike has the smoothest acceleration and it just rushes up to the red line, and then bounces off the rev limiter, very nicely. I know my bike isn't the fastest, but I was embarrassed how quickly I walked away from him. I didn't think that it felt all that heavy. I also didnt think the riding position was all that aggressive, but consider how far forward my bike sits. We didn't ride that far, but overall, I really liked the bike. I would even wager to say I would think seriously about trading mine in for one, but I would want to paint it solid yellow. Or at least something, I don't care for the stock paint scheme.

funkysoulbrotherjonboy,

It really is alot of fun. The brakes will open your eyes. :D

Thanks for the report. If you will bring yourself up here for the next riding season you might get to take one out for a bit longer.:D

BTW, I think it would look good in all yellow. You could get some of those Dainese leathers to match and do some serious posing with me in the Smokey Mountains. :D:D

John, there is nothing wrong with matching your bike when you go ride. Wouldn't want to look scraggley like a Kawasaki rider. Show a little pride in the appearance. After having my bike all yellow I am kindof biased.
