Jardine does not have a reputation for building high quality pipes. Their new stuff may be better, but if I had an RC I'd be looking at either Akropovic or Black Widow.

Mike,

On the RC51.net forum there is quite a bit of info on the different systems. A lot of it is opinions. There is not many available for our bikes yet. Most manufacturers aren't getting much improvement with full vs slip ons. I personally don't think that the price of the Akro full system is worth it. I can't use all of the 51's ability anyway. I had also heard in the past that Jardines were not high quality. Some of the 51 owners that have tried the Jardines say that the quality of theirs is excellent. I've not seen them up close. I would like the sound of some new cans but I'm going to invest the money in a riding school first to see if I can learn something. The pictures of the high rise Jardines sure look good. :)

I saw a Two Bros. titanium pipe on an an RC 51 a couple weeks ago and it looked really good. Not sure, but I think the Two Bros. would be a bit cheaper than the Jardine.

hey,
from what i have heard, jardine is not the best choice for the RC. i know that honda has been using them, so you would think that it would be of some good. the thing to keep in mind is that the jardine pipe that honda uses is specially designed for team honda. the after-market pipes that you would buy as a consumer are very different.
anyone else hear the same thing?
i would recommend the TBR pipe. i know that the MIG pipe works well with the R1 but see if they have something for the RC. they sure do look sweet! :)

My friend just put TBR carbon fiber slip ons on his RC and it sounds and looks bad a$$!! I'm really starting to like the twins. :)

The Two Brothers pipes are definitely high quality and I don't see any reason to buy anything else. IMO

I like the MIG pipe. I havn't seen it in person on the RC51 but I have seen and heard others and their owners always rave about them.

I installed an oval stainless rt-one jardine slip-on on my F4 last week. Yeah I bought it because it's being used by the Honda team. (I was thinking of buying an erion at first). Well, in the looks department, nothing would beat it for my F4 (the chrome and the red black emblem matches my red/silver bike perfectly).

Performancewise, well I'm no expert, but I felt a noticeable difference in power ( the flat spot after 4,500 rpm disappeared) plus smoother revs. I got the standard baffle so the sound was a lot louder than stock but not too loud, kinda more like a yosh (bassy sound).

The best part about it is that here in Northern NJ, almost all bikes no matter what make have D&D, Yosh, or TBR on them... when I'm parked on our local motorcycle store, my bike and my cousin's bike (with a hindle system) stand out because we're the only ones with different pipes among the rows and rows of bikes with D&D, Yosh, or TBR. I know all those pipes are good, but it's nice being different. You get more "what pipe is that? ooh... "

The "Jardine" pipe used on the US HRC bikes are not Jardine's
They are the same as Akrapovic's full race pipe with Jardine badges.
This pipe requires a huge amount of mods just to fit on the bike
Much less work properly
.............
So far it looks like the pipe to have will be the Moriwaki "limited" slip-ons.
Only 300 will be made.
Tapered, hand welded, stainless tubes
Rainbow anodized Ti sleeves
Impeccable craftsmanship
High mount, eliminating turn-signals and pax pegs
I ordered mine from Dan Kyle racing
Due late July..
I would also reccomend Micron or Erion
Their craftsmanship and R&D is pretty good
Be prepared for a pretty big increase in the amount of noise
But, that could be a good thing :D

While the design isn't final
And, this is their race pipe
The Mori's should look simular to this

I heard that the World Superbike pipes were actually Jardines with Akropovic badeges on them. :)

I'm not sure where the information about the factory Honda pipes comes from. My money says they are manufactured by Jardines or at least under contract with Jardines. Legal issues such as false advertising. ;)

Don't forget that at Datona testing the pipes on Miguel's RC almost fell off and Nicky's developed a leak in the Daytona 200 race. Probably Jardines. :D

A common misconception is that the equipment on the factory superbikes is something very special. Their pipes are not significantly different that what you can purchase as a full race system. Note I said full race system. I have dealt closely with Muzzy pipes and FBF Forza pipes. They aren't much different than what you could purchase from them(not from a catalog order). Superbike pipes are simple in construction(not design or tuning) and there isn't much that could be done differently.

Point being, there is only so much you can do with the exhaust. ;)

I disagree :)
Factory level parts are produced in very limited conditions.
I suspect the factory pipes are welded in Japan
However they could come from some very talented individuals like Bud Askland, or a company with the resources like Akrapovic.
There just isn't an issue with false advertising
Jardine does not have the resources
They might have spent some coin to enter the sportbike market
But, that doesn't mean they have access to the bikes to do the research themselves
Also, I disagree that the stuff run on the factory bikes is anything close to what you could buy
The "A" kitted factory supported stuff, maybe
Not, HRC, KRT, YRT, or Corse..
Not even close
That kind of labor just costs to much..

I second Mike's opinion. These teams spend 100's of hours tuning their exhausts to THEIR highly modified bikes. You don't actually believe that the works boys use the same cans we use?

Believe what you want but those were actual factory superbike pipes I was referring to. And they were in my actual hands. ;) I have held the factory race pipes and the race pipes that can be purchased from Muzzy and FBF and they were not significantly different. Before you think it, yes I have disassembled them. :)

I will admit that I have not held the factory Honda pipes. :(

The things that people are saying about Jardines now are the same things that were being said about Akropovics in the UK magazines 5 years ago. They aren't really making them, they are too small of a company, it's just money for the name, etc.

BTW, cbr600f4gd please read carefully. I did not say that the cans were the same that you could buy. I said they were not significantly different. :)

I am not going to debate this exhaust issue anymore. You should all be happy about that. :)

I'm going to go dust off my factory team uniform now that you have insulted my intelligence. :D :D

I heard that Jardine Pipes are the "Daewoo" of exhausts, and are assembled by Mattel Toys in Hong Kong.
