i hate everyone

yesterday i went to the local hang out, when i pulled in i hear, 'tony what happened to your bike?!?'

i got off it, and on the left hand side the upper was scratched and the turn signal was broken off.

it looks like it was from a car hood. it's definitely not from getting knocked over as the cases, levers, bar-ends, tail, pegs, etc are all perfect.

damn it, first scratches are reserved for the owner.

okay, maybe i don't hate everyone, 99 and 44/100% of all people :)

anyway the damage isn't that bad, it just pisses me off.

Damn Hit & Run drivers!! That sucks man! If you ever find the vehicle that did it, smack off his mirror and smash out a turn signal lens!

Tony, man that sucks big time! Where was your bike parked, I mean, was it in a company parking garage or the like where you can look for a car with scratches that match up? Or a public place where all hope is lost on finding the idiot?

Not that it matters, but how'd you miss seeing the damage when you got on your bike? You get on from the left side, correct? Maybe it was the car still parked next to you that did it. I'm know asking these questions might only make you feel worse, but a previous experience of mine, similar to yours, has taught me to do a quick visual on my vehicles before leaving, especially in parking garages/lots. I was able to nail one mofo for hitting my truck this way.

Believe me, I know exactly how you feel.

the thing that sucks is i know i'll never find out who did it.

my corrado was hit in run in a parking lot at my old job. i looked high and low at every car in that lot for my red paint, not one. it sucks. it's funny, i usually check the turn signals before i go anywhere, but i haven't ridden it since friday and was just happy to hit the road. :(

it could be worse, it's not that bad. at least they didn't drive over it.

as for breaking off mirrors, no. i'd beat an old lady senseless for it, but mirrors, no. :D

I've been there man. I had someone hit my bike hard enough to knock it up onto the sidewalk and then took off. The skidmarks measured over six feet, pretty fast for a lot with a 15 mph speed limit. To top it all off the campus security gaurd said that he saw the bike laying on its side, but didn't bother telling me because he thought that I parked it that way. what-ever! He wasn't there much longer after that :) Oh and one other thing. They could have got it on tape, if they hadn't recorded over it!

Sorry Tony. That sucks. But it could have been worse, they could have been doing 60 MPH. with you on the bike.

Molebaby
man that sucks, and IM not being a smartass or anything, but i was just reading your info to the right of the post and it says your bike is held together with duct tape and zip ties, of course i guess thats not the point, its just that somebody did this and didnt tell you about it, nevermind, id be pissed as hell.
Know how you feel Tony. Late this Spring I found my 600 laying on its side in a mall parking lot & someone said he thought woman in aa car bumped into it.
Still I have had other bikes also involved in hit & run incidents. So that is part of life.
Once my '75 Honda CB400F was still upright as some woman drove it back some 6 to 8 feet & it stayed up on its prop stand. Fortunately in those days the cops took notice, but he did not feel there was $350.00 damage (a said amount to really involve the RCMP) only it turned out to bee nearly $600.00. The joke of it was on the female driver of the van, seems she has been traansporting crippled people (though some firm she was with) around & had nothing more then a Class 5 (normal cage drivers license) & not a require Class 3 or higher. I noted after that she drove a stationwagon so she must have been slapped on the wrist.
This summer my poor truck was parked while I was at the gym & the WOMAN (again) backed into the front bumper & would have driven off only someone notified me & I was able to make her insurance pay for the damage little as it was.

Sorry to hear about your bike Tony. Glad it's not too bad. It sucks when this happens. I always take all the precautions when parking my bike, but there is always a chance that some stupid driver will hit it. I ve had my share of such accidents myself. The worst is when you get on the bike and realize it was dropped and put back to it's place as if nothing happened :(
