When I initiate a turn I don't start in the opposite direction then switch to the desired direction like the definition of countersteering implies. What's the deal?

Remember when you begun riding motorcycles, how the motorcycle seemed to be so wobbly as you were learning? That was your brain learning to compensate and counter steer. We all do it. If we didn't we would push the front tire contact patch out of traction.

We counter steer to offset the bikes gyroscopic wheels to the side, and then steer back to maintain the contact patch. Geometry takes care of the rest. :thumbs2:
