Well folks,

I was going to order my new AGV Leathers after I got home from the local weekly Wednesday night hangout (Spechts), but Officer Sparse changed my mind.
Here's the story, my wife hasn't even heard it yet, so I'll try it out on you :)
Traffic was bad, real bad, and it's 90+ outside. I'm sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the death loop. I see an exit ahead that will lead me around this mess, so I go for it. @ cages and myself are cruising down this road at 65 mph, when we round the corner and there he is  Officer Sparse, in the median, I hit the brakes, but too late, he hits his too (to put it into drive). Damn it, Busted!!!! I pull over and I was polite and all that crap. I asked him How come he wasn't out chasing real criminals - like you guys taught me. He goes back to flashing lights mobile and comes back with the pink slip and says "Sign here, and the judge will see you on the 25th".
That little side road shortcut cost me $165.00. I just took the Safe Drivers Couse 5 months ago and in TX we can only go once a year. Now, I am getting ready to order a new Valentine 1 to help me in my conquest for living each day to it's fullest.

I think once you get so many tickets you get flagged in the computer, and you will get one everytime.

No more breaks for you buddy.

Nanner, nanner, nanner, Todd.

I was scooting down I-80 this evening, running it up to about 90 in no traffic, and in my mirrors, what do I see coming up behind me at even a greater rate of knots? Why, it's Officer Sparses' younger brother!

At his point, I've slowed all the way down to 80 and he is on my left, pacing me in his Mustang.

I look over at him (gulp!) and he looks over at me.

He smiles, nods, and takes the next exit.

There is a god, and he rides.

Well, As a member of the local C.O.P. program, I get to do ride-alongs with the cops. So evertime that I do this, I get into the computer and check out my status and it shows up clean as a whistle :D

Yep, the only thing that shows up is the "Left turn on a one-way street after hours". One of those freaky time zone streets.

:D I AM THE MAN :D Gee Officer, You must have been doing about 125mph to catch up to me :)

hey man, u need to be creative...

i live in austin, and u can take def driving more than once a year, well depending on yer local court system..

here is austin, you can take deferred adjudication, which is basically probation for 6 months... if you don't get any tickets during that time period (and u have to take def drive again) the ticket will get dismissed...

other than that, just take the cop to trial and fight it!!! i've had a few tickets dropped by fighting them, simply cuz the PoPo didn't show up...

never just pay yer tickets!!! fight them... the least you can do is put off paying the fine, cuz it can take months to get a trail...

it's not that u r sloe, it's just that i'm faster than u...

Traded the VTR in on an R1 yesterday! Just kidding. :D

On getting together, considering Hy_Syde's post in the "Speed" thread, <<we hit a 10 miles section of road that was 4 lanes wide and back-to-back long high speed sweepers..
i had the bike cranked over and pegged in 5th gear at 165mph (yes, my speedo is off) for nearly 10 minutes straight!>>, I think I'll decline the invitation. No offense, Hy_Syde, but that kinda stuff ain't for me.

Todd,
Holy sh*t batman, that could've been me! Sorry about gettin' tagged buddy, it sucks I know. I was gonna ride to Specht's yesterday, but my front tire is flat (again, I have some kinda slow leak, and it's almost bald anyway so I'm waiting for CyclePlex to call me to say my new one is in). So, I could've been me that got tagged. Funny thing is, this Saturday, I'm taking defensive driving for the ticket I got way back in April (88 in a 45, don't feel bad!) Yes, they (Bexar County, nailed on Smithson Valley Road about 4 miles outside 1604) messed up, and are letting me take defensive driving for felony speeding! :D :D :D :D :D Woo-woo! Sometimes, I get a break. Usually not though.
BTW, if you "South Texas guys" get together for a ride, count me in!

Pete,
Come up and ride with us. :) On the roads that I travel you won't be able to do 165 mph for longer than 2 minutes at the most. I don't ever go that fast ;) I have a Katana!

Rug Burn & Cosmo,
I am hoping that the Judge will let me go on the defense that I am trying to set a World Record here

Sorry, Officer, I didn't realize my radar detector wasn't plugged in.

That sucks! But if it's any consolation, you may the most out of any of us. You're #1.

How do you have your V1 mounted and hooked into your bike? I have one in my car, and I'm thinking about getting the motorcycle kit. Do you think it would be simple to take it out of the car and use on the bike and vice versa without it being a pain?

Tungue,

I will be using velcro to attach the V1 to a plate that sits just above the tach. It uses the straight wire from the kit and the car uses the coil wire with lighter adapter. The V1 will arrive tomorrow by noon.
I will try to get some pictures taken soon afterwards. V1 suggests that you mount it detector as far in front of you as possible, so that means not in the tankbag, as originally planned. The further away from you the better the rear antenna will work :)If my plan does not work then I will have to do what was previously suggested and look at Saeng for their mounts.

the V1 is a awsome radar detector !, but just keep in mind, if officer friendly is using a radar GUN, than he's got your speed when the V1 goes off, ( if he's tagging you ), and with your record, i don't think you NEED another ticket ! :D

Ok people,

Here's the skinny on today's court appearance. I got the D.A. deal for the low price of $180.00 and I got to charge it on my AMEX and get more free airline mileage :)
I could not do the Defensive Driving course, since I had just completed it back in March. The judge did not feel the need to lower my probation, either. The D.A. actually cost me more than my ticket. So now I have to behave for the next 90 days and then I am clear of number 39 :D
Let the Valentine GOD shine down on me and show me the location of all harmful evil spirits called "RADAR"
