I'm sure it was because of the parents who saw their kid watching it at the stop light. They probably made a huge deal out of it.

O/T I HATE Chuck the freak on 89X...can't even listen to that station in the morning!!! Annoying doesn't even cover it.

that sounds pretty retarded to me. Some police aught to be dragged out of their cars and shot. There is no reason to be hearing about such stupid things.
Government will be no more honest and truthful than we force it to be. The cop was doing what he believes to be his job although i agree some shold be shot and eaten:eek:

I think it's time to reboot the government and start over with a fresh copy.

"I believe there are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations." -- James Madison

"Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." -- Mark Twain

"Discontent is the first step in the progress of a man or a nation"--fortune cookie

"It is enough that the people know there was an election. The people who cast the votes decide nothing. The people who count the votes decide everything" -- Joseph Stalin

"The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws." -- Tacitus

My point, if you don't like the law cahnge it.

It's funny how "the land of the free" is actually one of the most law-ridden countries in the world. I was thinking about that just this morning, when I was thinking about the fact that a 5 member board decides what I can and cannot do with my property. If I want to paint my house any color other than what it already is, I have to write a letter to the board asking permission. At what point is this no longer considered "freedom" ?

We have an association too. You could be on the flip side of that. Without a commity, your next door neighbor could paint his house pink with green shutters and your other neighbor could paint his orange with blue shutters....lol Hmmm, I think I would rather have that voted on! ;) I do know what you're saying though. Sometimes it's a little over the top and those people elected take their volunteer job a bit too seriously!

I mean no offence... its all in the name of good discussion.

Your neighbor worked for the money to pay for his house. You didnt buy it for him... Who the fk are you to say what color his house is?

Well for one, I have to look at it everyday! For two, if it's a nasty color it will bring my property value down!!;)

It all has to do with property rights. What claim does anyone have to anything owned by someone else? That is, in essence, what a homeowners/neighborhood association is. It's a small group of people telling everyone else what they can or cannot do with their property. They are precisely the reason I am buying land in the middle of nowhere to build my house, so I can do whatever the hell I want with it. :2cents:
