The front end is very trick on the CB-1000. Quick release. Don't crash it, or it will cost a small fortune to fix. I used the front end on a custom bike once.
I attached a picture of what your front end looked like on my old Shadow. Polished of course. Direct bolt on to a shadow (thorough research on my part).
The CB-1000 (Big One) and the CB-1300 ("Bigger One") are more popular in Japan and in Europe than the states. It makes about 100 hp vs the CBR1000 (same engine, but different heads, etc.) which makes 120+hp. It was a tough sell after that info got out.
Gotcha. I'm just outside Chicago, IL. Have you done anyhting yet to your CB? I bought mine with a TBR Exhaust, jetted and with a Vance and Hines Power Pak igntion. I've been having trouble finding parts for it also. If you know anyone with a spare set of forks, please let me know as mine are bent from the previous owner.
