What is a good headlight to produce a bright-white HID look? It seems like there are so many different kinds out there and no way to test or compare them to find one that looks good.

Be very careful messing around with higher wattage bulbs. You can easily melt the lense or burn the reflector over time. They're expensive to replace.

If you're looking to improve the lighting, you can often get improvement by making sure it's adjusted properly. Many are too low out of the box. If you do mess with it, be careful not to get it so high that it's lighting up the mirror or back of the driver's head in front of you. We need to be considerate, you know.:) The adjuster locations should be in your owner's manual.

All these 'super white' bulbs basically have a blueish coating on the bulb. That mean the light is being filtered which means you are getting a clear white light that is less bright than normal. So now you MUST get a 100w bulb to make up for the dimmer lighting. Your choice, looks or lumens. You could get a real HID kit you know.
